San Antonio, TX

Sunday March 7, 2004

12:18am  I have left The Riverwalk. I'm on street level now.

12:37am  I'm walking down North Main over by Martin. By the Alamo Music Center. I'm going to walk up San Pedro and try and score some free food somewhere.

I had an awesome night tonight. I'm famous!

1:02am  I am now passing the VIA building.

     1:17am  Passing Woodlawn.

Two thousand block of San Pedro.

Whoa, I'm passing a Mexican restaurant. I'm going to score some food!

1:21am  Jesus is hooking me up with two bean and cheese for my walk home.

Scored two tacos at the Mexican place. Haha, called that shit.

1:35am  I am walking from the Mexican place.

1:55am  Passing Hildebrand. 3400 block of San Pedro.

I'm passing by what used to be the old Butterkrust billboard. It's all gone now. It's all white. That thing stood as a San Antonio landmark for decades. Now ClearChannel owns it. They took it over.

2:18am  I came to another Mexican restaurant. Mr. Taco, I think. I walked by and I saw these two kids outside and hit them up for a story. They say yeah, sure. They invited me inside and there was a big table of kids there. This one girl even offered me a taco.

2:47am  Holy shit! That was awesome. I got so many email addresses. Dude, I had a whole table full of kids listening to me. And when I walked over there I told the cop outside my story. He wouldn't listen to me at all. He was all, "Go pardner, go." I asked him to think I was crazy.

This girl Tolyn told me, "It was really nice meeting you." She said, "I am glad I was able to help you out on your mission with the tacos." Carne guisada. They were damn good. I am all fueled up.

Oh yeah, and when I tried telling that cop my stuff at the end he was all, "Be careful." I told him, "That's the only way I know how to be."

2:57am  I stopped and saw this little cute dog. Aww, he's so cute. I wanna pet him. Give him some lovin'.

3:15am  I tried telling this pretty girl my story, but she wouldn't listen to me. She told me, "I'm on marijuana right now." At the Diamond Shamrock on San Pedro and Basse.

Her name is Jessica Villareal. She said she's from San Antonio.

3:30am  These dudes pull up in a truck and asked me, "Hey, do you need any money?" I told him, "Nah, but will you listen to me?" They asked me what was up. I gave them my intro and they got in their truck and drove off. It's cool that they offered me money. I didn't even ask for it. I told them, "Nah, that's ok." They were probably going to hold out a bill, say "psyche" and drive off.

Oh yeah, and this other dude was walking by and he told me, "Hey man, do you have any coke?" I told him, "Sorry, I don't do drugs. I smoke weed."

3:32am  I just told this guy and a girl walking by, I hit them up for a story, but they were in a hurry.

The girl was willing to listen at first, but her boyfriend cut me off with, "Oh no, we're in a hurry. We're going to go get cigarettes."

3:40am  Tony hooked me up with a cigarette. He wouldn't listen to me though. Ignorance is bliss.

I sat down at the bus bench and rested to see if they would walk back by. They did, but they still wouldn't listen to me so I'm walking now.

4:05am  I am at San Pedro and Rector. 7400 San Pedro.

4:23am  I am walking. I'm going to walk down Rector to Blanco. I'm going to walk over to the Jim's and use the restroom.

I just had a great presentation with this couple in Jim's.

5:12am  Robert hooked me up with a Camel Wide here in Jim's. I appreciate it.

6:10am  I didn't even ask her and Faith walked up and gave me a cigarette. I appreciate it, Faith. Everybody gets credit in my game.

I told my story to Robert and in the end he said, "Yeah, you don't learn anything if you don't listen."

6:21am  I'm going to wait for the 534.

6:30am  #461 is hooking me up with a transfer

The 551 gave me a transfer for the 534. I told him, "I don't have any money. I walked all the way from downtown." He hooked me up.

6:42am  It's a beautiful morning. The sun's coming up. I'm not even tired. Wow, look at the moon. It's full. You can see the yin-yang.

7:04am  I see the 534. Here it comes.

                   Wrong bus.

7:20am  Damn, the bus driver won't give me another transfer.

7:32am  Jonie, this lady that I knew before, hooked me up with fifteen cents for a transfer.

7:39am  Here we are at University Hospital. Let me check what time the 610 comes.

8:08am  Noah hooked me up with a cigarette here at the hospital. I appreciate it, brother.

8:45am  I just got dropped at the Citgo by my mom's. I'm going to walk home now. I'm tired.

Man, I can't believe I walked all the way from downtown to North Star Mall again.

     6:50pm  I crashed out hard. I didn't do much. It's Sunday.

7:47pm  I forgot to tell you. I'm already halfway down the street. I'm walking to the gas station to bum a cigarette.

7:52pm  Courtney hooked me up with a cigarette at the Citgo. I appreciate it, Courtney.

8:15pm  Courtney gave me another cigarette! I appreciate it, Courtney.

I had a good little session with that girl. I told her all my ideas.

Next day..
