Thursday April 5 2007

8:42am  I am just leaving the house. Last night, when I got there Matthew, Dreamer told me that there was this big falling out at the house. That there was a big fight. They got jumped. There's all this stress going on, with all the partying and beer. I got asked to leave. I told them, "Dude, don't you guys remember I gave you that disclaimer when I first got here. All you have to do is tell me to go and I will. Thanks for the time you gave me here."

I'm going to walk to the Olé Frijolé and buy a burrito for a dollar, hopefully. I'm going to go fly my sign on Powell. Then I'm going to go work in the garden again. I don't know where I'm going to crash tonight. Let me go see if I can crash at Jeni's again.

Unless someone else were to volunteer. Umm, you know, Chris, hehe.

8:56am  Olé Frijolé is closed. They open at ten.

9:04am  John, driving the 72 gave me a courtesy ride. I appreciate it, brother. Everybody gets credit, thanks.

     9:36am  I just hit Powell.

9:39am  I came to the Carl's Jr. Oh yeah, on the bus these two black ladies got on and they tried to get me to move. Then this other black lady told them, "He's harmless. Don't touch him. I've seen him before." She ended up volunteering me like three dollars. How awesome. I didn't ask for anything. She told the ladies, "Give him some money." Then she looked at me and said, "Black people will help you."

I came to Carl's Jr. and got me some food.

9:43am  Bill hooked me up with a cigarette on 82nd and Powell. I appreciate it, brother. Everybody gets credit, thanks.

9:47am  That sucks! There's a bum on each corner. There's all this competition.

10:11am  I had a good talk with Dorothy, this seventy year old lady. I walked by her and she asked me, "Where are you going?" I smiled and told her, "I'm on my way to save the world." She wouldn't listen to my story and she had a lot to say. She got this big huge smile on her face after talking to me. I hope I brightened her day. I gave her my webpage and gave her a hug. Oh yeah, since the corner of 82nd and Powell is packed, too much bum-competition today, I'm going to walk over closer to Chris' brother's and fly my sing around there.

11:28am  Maria en Ricos Tacos me esta dando comida. Te lo agradezco, senora. Todo el mundo recibe credito, gracias.

12:00pm  I stopped and flew my sign on Holgate. I had a great reaction. Everybody was smiling. This one guy told me off. I yelled back at him, "Talk is cheap!" Anyway, I just came in the IHOP and took a big healthy shit. Oh yeah, and I got hooked up with a taco at the little taqueria that pulled up on the corner I was on. A van. At first she told me the manager wasn't there. I told her, "Well, I have a dollar." She gave it to me free anyway. Muchas gracias, Maria.

1:00pm  I just had a badass presentation in front of McDonald's. Hell yeah. I'm all stoned.

1:15pm  Hell yeah, I just got kicked down with a fat nugget! From this girl in a convertible. She had a little rainbow thing hanging from her rearview.

1:25pm  I am sitting here at the bus stop flying my sign at Woodstock and 82nd. This ignorant ass dude with a Mountain Dew backpack on, I told him, "Hey man, will you check out my website? It's free." He didn't acknowledge me at all. Ignorance is bliss, they say.

2:39pm  I walked over and saw Chris in the garden. Cool. I came over and we smoked a joint. Now we're eating apples and bananas so I have some gasoline for my stomach. We're going to go work in the garden. He's telling me about a book that's out of print. What is it? Chris: "Ray Jardine. He writes about his experimentation with long-distance walking. He and his wife together hiked the Pacific Crest Trail backwards in three months. It normally takes from Mexico to Canada, six months. Five months if you're fast. They hiked it backwards in three months. The reason you can't go backwards is because the window of opportunity for the North Cascades is very narrow. High summer is the only time you can get through it. So if you start then, you end up in the middle of winter going through the High Sierras, which is a bad thing. He does it by deciding what the heaviest item in his pack is and getting rid of it. And, the heaviest item in his pack is the pack itself. He's all about making your own gear and embracing the elements in such a way that you don't need anything. He carried very very light homemade equipment. He is completely against tents because you can just use a tarp."

5:11pm  Dude, I'm getting hooked up at this Asian place. It's like Bing Bong Wang or something. I'll get the name when I go back outside. I tried to give them my line and right when the guy saw me pull out my tape recorder he told me yes. I don't think he even understood what I said. Cool, so I can go back to gardening with a full stomach. That's so awesome. Proof positive.

5:26pm  The restaurant is called Bun-bon-hue. Some Asian place hooked me up with a yummy bowl of noodles. Thank you.

6:54pm  I am leaving Chris' brother's house. We worked a lot in the garden today. I love working in that garden. Chris has to go to work. He's a Thai masseuse. I'm going to walk to this taqueria that's closeby Chris told me about. I'll see if they hook me up. I've gotten hooked up today at a lot of places. I got hooked up at the taco stand earlier around noon. I got hooked up at the Vietnamese restaurant.

7:02pm  The Urupan Taqueria. Once again, the "owner wasn't there."

7:03pm  Venita hooked me up with a cigarette walking down 82nd. I appreciate it, Venita. Everybody gets credit, thanks.

I had a great presentation with that girl who gave me a cigarette and Lucy. They listened to me. She was this pregnant girl. Their bus pulled up, but I gave them my webpage.

8:19pm  I impulsively got off at the MAX stop on 82nd. I'm was going to offer to smoke these girls out, but I couldn't find them when I got off the bus. I had a good presentation with somebody else anyway.

I got off on 33rd. I walked by the New Seasons and all of a sudden I see the guys from the house. All of them. I smoked them out at Concordia Ale. I'm going to see if I can go back over there and check my email.

8:55pm  I'm going to go hit up La Sirenita.

They told me no, so I asked if I could talk to the owner. She shook her head that I couldn't. Oh well, I'm going to try La Bonita.

9:12pm  Since Sirenita turned me down, I just walked like two doors down to La Bonita and I'm getting hooked up. I got me a healthy and inexpensive veggie burrito. Mmmmm. Juaquín is hooking a brother up. Thanks for feeding the peace machine.

11:09pm  Scott, in front of Halibuts is hooking me up with a cigarette. I appreciate it, brother. Everybody gets credit.

Next day..
