8:48am I woke up around 7:30 or so. I got to sleep in a bunkbed with a mattress and everything. My friends are still sleeping, but I'm going to venture into town and find some place to take a shit and shave and stuff. My ankles are sore as hell. I'm going to rest another day before I take off walking again.
Oh yeah, I found my Natural Balance Hat. It was in my backpack. That's cool.
D and Chris live down 16th Street.
9:04am I am at Johnny's Exxon, where I came yesterday taking a shit. I need to detail some more my experience yesterday. I walked all the way down the hill and Junction is like a big Shangri-La. This little hidden city out here in the country. First I had gone to the Exxon. The second I saw there was a Subway at it I said to myself, "Cool, I'm going to eat." Sure enough, Allison hooked me up. I didn't even give her the line. I told her, "Hey, I just walked all the way from Kerrville. Will you hook me up with a sandwich?" She said sure and gave me a big foot long sandwich. I ate half of it and then the rest last night for dinner. Oh yeah, and last night we went to Little Mexico looking for weed, me and the kids, Chris and D. Chris is going to go to the Navy soon. Him and D are engaged and I was trying to tell them how they don't need to ever get married. It was cool last night I met all these Junction kids and I had a great welcome to Junction. I had a place to crash and I have a place to stash my bag while I walk around. I'm going to have another great day. Umm, I'm thinking about walking all the way to Sonora. It's fifty three more miles.
9:31am I went over to Steve's . . err whatever, Johnny's Exxon and took a shit and shaved. I smoked a cigarette outside and I'm walking back to D's. I'm hungry.
11:21am I went back to Chris and D's and hung out. Smoked some resin, hehe. Now we're walking into town. We're just going to walk around.
We came to say hi to Cody at this house he works at. Hippie Cody.
11:36am We're checking out Flatrock.
12:39pm We're leaving Flatrock. We're going to go to this rope swing. Oh yeah, Cody showed up at Flatrock. He came and hung out with us. At first I took off my shoes and everyone walked to this rock island in the middle of the river. My feet are so sensitive from all the walking I do, so I asked Chris if he could go get my shoes so I could wear them in the water.
3:32pm I haven't made an update all day. After Flatrock we went to the river. The same river where that bridge is when I walked into town. South Llano, I believe. It was badass. We were all launching from a rope swing. It was real fun. We just came back now. I'm all tired. I want to take a nap. I didn't sleep enough last night.
I'm having a blast in Junction. I don't want to go.
5:23pm Chris came back and woke me up. We're going to go to some party tonight.
6:26pm We came over to Katie's trailer and hung out with her and Rose. We're still looking for marijuana.
Now we're going to get beer(for them).
6:44pm Thomas, at this party we're at gave me a shot of Jack Daniels. I appreciate it, brother.
7:22pm We came over to Flatrock. I'm kind of drunk. I'm drinking Smirnoff's. Now I'm walking back because there's nobody else out here.
Chris says, "Fuck you if you can't take a joke."
7:55pm I'm talking to Brandon Miller. What is it that you want to tell the whole world?
Brandon: "They can suck my fucking big balls."
Harley Chopland: "I am certifiably crazy. But I'm not crazy enough to give up my government paycheck!"
1:44am I've had a fun night tonight. I went to this party over by Flatrock. This girl Ashley who I had seen yesterday, she listened to my story all wide-eyed. She didn't smoke weed or anything. This girl has the most beautiful freckles in the world. This really beautiful girl. Well, she seemed to take a liking to me and we started making out. Because we got all drunk and stuff. We were all over each other. At first she told me she had nothing tying her down and that she'd go traveling with me. Afterwards she told me, "Umm, I'll think about it." She was all getting my hopes up. I'm going to see her tomorrow. She's eighteen.
