Tuesday June 23, 2009

3:47am  I just switched out to a new tape. I hope I didn't lose anything. I had a good typing session in Roseburg.

5:18am  I am having the nicest, relaxingest morning here at my little camp by the highway. I was so blessed with this perfect camp. Thank you, LOVE. Man, there's bums crashing on the sidewalk right across the street from my bushes. I love it so much. I'm not the first person to sleep here, just surprised that it's been vacant for me. I am even considering cleaning up all the trash and making it my own, hehe. I am so grateful. I do believe I have decided something though. I am still in Oregon, so I am going back South again, to O'Brien and get another copy of all my pictures from Jason at Shadow's. Who knows when I'll run into another MSDuo card reader again.

9:05am  I fell back asleep and I am now stepping out of my bush. 015bushes016street.jpg017street.JPG018street.JPG

9:34am  I stopped at the Sisters of the Rose Cafe. 133 6th Avenue. I saw a big congregation of homeless people. I asked someone the reason for the gathering and they told me that they have this program where you can volunteer for free food, or pay $1.25. I offered my website and then set my bags down and exposed my shirt. I approached some kids with my story, these Christian kids. They made it known they were Christians and I told them, "We're not born bad. That's a big
trick. They wouldn't listen. They had to go volunteer. This one Asian guy seemed really interested and told me they would listen to my story when they were finished. Ah, that's what the website is for. Peace out. I don't need to eat here. I'm not that hungry anyway. I loaded up on Chinese food last night. I'm going to skip town. I'm going to go back to O'Brien and get my pictures off my camera again.

9:48am I went in the Subway and filled up my ice.

9:52am  Imelda en La Jorachita me esta dando comida. Te lo agradesco, Imelda. Todo el mundo recibe credito, gracias.

10:05am  It was awesome. I walked by all the taco stands out here and I got hooked up. I've got a happy belly now.  I'm glad I didn't stay at the bumfeed and have to volunteer for food. All I had to do was ask and I received.

11:39am  I went to the I-5 onramp and got bored. I'm going to catch the Max as far South as I can.

12:09pm  The greedy ass bus driver won't give me a courtesy ride. Nobody wants world peace! Good little slave!

12:22pm  The next driver told me no too.

12:25pm  Yet another greedy ass driver.

Ha, I'm having fun yelling at the bus drivers today. It's all a number's game.

1:08pm  Johnny just volunteered me some Cheetos outside of the Subway. I appreciate it, brother. Everybody gets credit. Check out my website.

1:22pm  Matty, see, I was standing in front of the Subway passing out my website. Matty came by and asked me if I was still walking around the country. He said he had met me in Boulder about three and a half or four years ago. That's awesome. Thanks for making contact, brother.

1:39pm  I was spreading my word downtown and this ignorant little security guard, this piglet ran me off my spot. Man, nobody wants world peace! You must like war! Why does everybody have to fuck with the guy trying to bring world peace!? When will we ever learn??

1:48pm  Ashley just volunteered me some food. I was hungry. Everybody gets credit, thanks a lot.

2:34pm  I'm out here spreading the word in front of this big building and yet another piglet ran me off my spot. He came up to me asking me who's got the dope. I told him not me, that I had nothing to hide. I told him, "Tough guy, big man, do what you can. Is that all you can do? Why don't you call somebody with some authority?"

2:52pm  I assumed my post at 5th and Alder. I'm going to do my free hugs thing.

3:15pm  Jenna was nice enough to hook me up with some change for the cause. I appreciate it, sister. Everybody gets credit, thanks.

3:25pm  Abdullah and Mike hooked me up with some change for the cause. I appreciate it, brothers. Everybody gets credit. Thanks a lot. Can I tell you my story?

3:42pm  Ha, this Trimet guy came up to me and told me shit. You can't stop me, punk. You can just get in my way.

4:25pm  Luke and Carrie are out here giving out free food to the homeless. We appreciate it, guys.

4:41pm  I just got on the #12, skipping town.

5:15pm  I just got off over by the highway. I'm going to go in the Round Table Pizza and see if I can use the restroom.

It was weird. There wasn't any good spot on the onramp to thumb it on. I saw some kid sitting in the grass with a sign that said Eugene. I walked up to him and asked him what was going on. I told him that if he got a ride to see if they minded me coming too. He told me, "Actually, my friend is on his way up here to give me a short ride to a better hitch spot. He said I could come with. His friend pulled up soon afterwards and gave us a cruise about seven miles.

7:02pm  I had given up thumbing it on the highway. As I was walking down the hill from the highway this girl pulled over for me quick. Marilyn is being generous enough to give me a ride. I really appreciate it, sister. Everybody gets credit. Thanks a lot.

7:26pm  PJ was nice enough to give me a cigarette at the truck stop I got dropped off at.

7:49pm  I came to the truck stop here and I'm hungry. I am considering going in the Popeye's attached to it and hitting them up.

7:59pm  John just volunteered me some food. I don't have to hit up Popeye's now. I appreciate it, brother. Everybody gets credit.

8:50pm  I found this cool little Ewok Village. See, before the truck stop I had noticed a trail going into the woods. I followed the trail and I saw a huge tent pitched. I called out, "Hello? I come in peace." The girl looked out the window and I heard her say, "It's some guy with a backpack." They invited me over and I am telling this brother and his girl my story. They're smoking me out too. I appreciate it, brother.

Nameless just hooked me up with a cellphone so I can call my mom. It's her birthday a couple days ago. I tried calling her before but she didn't answer. I wrote her an email though. They had a big surprise party for her in San Antonio and everything. She told me all about it.

9:40pm  I've had a good time. I didn't feel like thumbing it. See, before I got to the truck stop I had noticed a trail. I walked into the woods and saw like three bikes chained up together and another trail leading further back. I met this homeless couple who lived in a huge tent, as big as a house. I offered them to tell them my story. The girl was loving the Note From the Rich and was cracking up all the way through it. When I hit people up for it instead of saying Note From the Rich I say, "A letter of appreciation from the rich to everybody else." Anyway, I dismissed myself from their camp. I'm going to camp over by the entrance by those bikes. I still have some story-telling in me so I'm going to go leave my stuff here and go hang out at the truck stop. Peace out. I'll hit up the Popeye's too.

9:57pm  Katie here at the Popeye's at the truck stop is hooking me up. Everybody gets credit. Thanks a lot. Called that.

Next day..
