Denver to Boulder to Broomfield to Westminster to Golden, back to Boulder, CO

Saturday June 24, 2006

7:43am  I just woke up not too long ago. Like at seven or seven thirty. I crashed over by Pecos Street. There was a self-storage place. In the corner there was this spot with all these trees. So I crashed there.

8:02am  I walked Pecos to 38th. I hope the bus comes soon. I am at the bus stop across the street from the world's third largest polluter, Coors. Their offices in Denver.

8:06am  Shit, I lost my rainbow shirt. I left it in Zane's truck. I left my hoodie too. Argh, that makes me so mad. I loved that hoodie. There's no way I can get a hold of the Zane. Oh wait, there is a way. Since Zane was towing a big eighteen wheeler, I should just search Google for Heavy Haulers in the Denver area. I'll call and ask around. I am going to ask for Zane in Arvada. He was in Avon yesterday. Thing is, I don't have time to do all this shit. I need to go to Boulder to get Kent and be headed back already. Damnit, I lost Carol's cellphone. I lost my hoodie. I lost my rainbow shirt. This really sucks.

8:44am  I just caught the #6 bus on Pecos. Right in front of the Coors headquarters. I'm going to go downtown.

9:09am  Downtown Denver. I hope I don't lost anything else.

9:25am  Market Street Station. I need another dollar for bus fare to Boulder.

9:36am  I am on the Boulder bus already. The driver let me on a dollar short.

10:07am  I am talking to Megan, telling her my story. The bus driver was ignorant to me. What was your email? maggiesmith@yahoo.com

10:34am  The bus stopped at Euclid and Broadway. Right where I can catch the Buff Bus.

10:38am  Screw it, it's Saturday and the Buff Bus is running all weird. I am going to walk to 30th and Baseline.

Oh yeah, I have to make an update. I walked all the way to the corner, where Kent was. Alicia was there and she let me use her computer. I went to DexOnline and I typed in 18-wheeler tow truck. I just called some random tow truck place and told him, "I am looking for people who tow 18 wheelers. I was hitchhiking and I left my stuff in some guys truck. His name was Zane." The guy told me, "Yeah, Zane works for Brinks." Badass, I got the number. Brinks Heavy Towing in Commerce City. 5821 East 52nd Avenue. 303-289-3387. Sweet, I'm going to get my stuff back. I am so happy.

11:19am  Kent got his stuff ready and we are leaving Boulder.

11:21am  The 203 driver just hooked us up with four transfers so we can get to Golden. He didn't even say anything. He just tore them off.

1:38pm  Wastic, at the bus stop hooked me up with a cigarette. We're waiting for the bus to Golden.

1:47pm  We are off on the Skip bus down Broadway.

2:37pm  Elias me esta dando un cigaro. To lo agradezco, senor.

4:05pm  Kent and I were walking and this cop pulled over, ran my ID and took all of Kent's information. He's going to let us go. He don't have anything on us. Remind Carol to elaborate.

4:51pm  We walked all the way to this King Sooper's in Broomfield. We climbed this bigass hill. Kent and I are going to go in there. Walk around inside and eat donuts.

Dude, I just got hooked up at the Burger King! The kid just told me, "You're in luck, my manager is not here," and he handed me a bag. I'm going to share with Kent. Cool, I got us food.

6:20pm  Walking into the city of Westminster, where Carol's evil sister lives.

6:35pm  Oh shit, I didn't tell you. It started hailing and raining bad. Kent doesn't have a poncho. He's getting soaked. We walked into Westminster. Mary and Randy were nice enough to pull over and get us out of the rain.

7:47pm  Michael, this generous soul, we were walking towards the truck stop and he pulled over for us. Everybody gets credit. He's on his way to a rainbow gathering. He's going to hit I40. We're going to get off in Georgetown.

8:26pm  Another run-in with the police. Oh, we are almost to Golden, where we should have been a long time ago. I see a big Home Depot.

9:14pm  I've got an update to make. Kent and I were walking around getting lost. We came to the Home Depot to get water. We couldn't find the entrance. Then I saw another brother walking down the road with a backpack on. I called to him and he came over and offered to smoke me out! His name is Kurt. Kent didn't want to, so he just kept walking. More for us, hehe. Kurt wants to come check out the farm, so we're going to catch up with Kent.

9:22pm  Scott, this nice gentleman pulled over randomly and gave us some food. He said, "I can't give you a ride anywhere, but I'll give you some food." Sweet, the universe provides.

9:29pm  That Kurt guy, he surprised me. At first he was badass, he smoked me out. Some random dude walking down the street. He's six eight. At first I thought this guy would really like to hear my story. I tried over the roar of the traffic. Oh yeah, I met back up with Kent. I am going back to Boulder now. I guess we'll head to Paonia tomorrow. This sucks. Anyway, I had told Kurt I lived on an organic farm and he was all ready to go with us. Then Kent backed out and walked to the gas station and called his girl Joanna to come get him. I got to talk with Carol and she told me to stay with Kent. Oh yeah, that Kurt guy while I was telling my story, the first time I asked him if he was willing to listen, he said, "That's about all I can handle." He just walked off.

10:37pm  Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you Joanna showed up and I am en route to 30th and Baseline. Kent was all mad. See, if Kent doesn't show up in Paonia by Monday, Carol is screwed. I don't know what's going to happen.

Next day..
