Denver, CO to Cheyenne, WY

Thursday July 3, 2003

     8:44am  I just weighed all my stuff here at the Greyhound. 24.3lbs that I'm carrying.

     10:10am  Time for one big update. At the Greyhound station I crashed on the floor. I made friends with this girl named Cami who was waiting for her bus to Iowa. I convinced her to go to the Rainbow Gathering with me. And, this other girl named Blue whom we made friends with was talking to this guy who was going to try and rent a car and we were going to have a ride to the gathering. At first, I was considering riding the bus to Boulder and getting a ride to the Gathering from there. Now, we are walking around downtown and looking for Internet access somewhere. We are going to see if we can find a different way to get to Rainbow.

                      Okay, we are on the corner of 16th street and California. We are waiting for the free bus. They have a free bus in this town! 

     12:45pm  We are at the corner of Kurt and 18th street. Man, there's an awesome building right here. A big tall black one.

     1:52pm  The coolest shit just happened. Blue 

comes walking out, she had gone out to fly a sign to get some money. She tells me, "Hey dude, I found a guy who has a van and he needs gas money to get to the Gathering." Badass, things are taking a good turn.

     2:08pm  Jay is the brother with the ride.

     2:31pm  I totally lost Cami.

 

                   She came into the Walgreen's right here. She got some stuff and got in line. We were supposed to meet Blue and the other guy at this corner, so I told Cami I was going to go outside and see if they walked by. Some time passed and Cami never came out. She should've seen me. I haven't moved. I got her pillow and everything. Now she's gone. I don't know where she is. This sucks.

     2:34pm  I found Cami.

     4:04pm  Pam hooked me up with a cigarette. I appreciate it, Pam. That's very generous of you.

     5:34pm  The greatest thing just happened. We are back at the Greyhound station and Cami just walked up and handed me a ticket ALL THE WAY TO THE RAINBOW GATHERING! Man, when Cami handed it to me, I thought she was showing me her ticket to just Cheyenne, but no, it had my own name on it and everything! Woohoo!! Turns out Cami had a $200 emergency cash stash and she paid for my $85 ticket! Wow, she told me that since I was the one that convinced her to go to the Rainbow Gathering, that she felt she had to help me out.

     5:44pm  Yvette was generous enough to give me a cigarette. I appreciate it Yvette.

     6:41pm  I'm talking to Henry at the Greyhound station in Denver. He tells me I should read Joshua Norton the First Emperor of America.

     7:05pm  I'm outside the Greyhound station about to leave for the Rainbow Gathering. I'm talking to Roger who's telling me I should look up Howard Mark, the video?

     7:16pm  Today's the third, right? That dude Roger, who I also just convinced to go to the Rainbow Gathering he told me how his friend could get all these shrooms and weed. While I'm on the bus, he knocks on my window from the outside to get my attention. He tries to spell something out, but I couldn't understand him. Then he yells, "XTC!" I told him, "No man, I don't do drugs. I smoke weed."

                   I'm going to the Rainbow Gathering, I'm going to the Rainbow Gathering.

     9:08pm  We are in Greeley, Colorado.

     10:50pm  We're in Cheyenne.

     11:09pm  We're at the Greyhound station in Cheyenne.
