Monday September 13, 2004

     6:32am  I woke up around six this morning. It was all bright out. The sun was out already. I am surprised I got so much sleep. I had taken a three hour nap last night after I got stoned with Collette and Deanna.

     7:20am  I just had this awesome presentation with Little Bird. I smoked her out. Some homeless chick pushing a shopping cart full of her stuff. I had just sat down on the sidewalk and I called her, "Hey, want to smoke some weed?" She comes over and introduces herself. She was Native American, I think. She told me she was trying to find the welfare office.

                   Man, I just put on a spectacular presentation. I blew her mind. She listened to my whole shpeel. She even told me, "I might stop back around here if you're going to still be here." Cool, I can talk her ear off.

     7:53am  Oh yeah, I had talked to Little Bird right in front of the Carquest Rental Car place on Greenwood, I think. I'm looking for a gas station. I'm hungry. I don't have any money though. I need to find some Mexican restaurants and hit them up.

     7:56am  They told me no at the AM/PM. I told her she failed. She said, "Oh, I'm sorry." Hehe.

                    I came to the gas station where I had first got dropped off, where I met those kids who drove me to the park. When I first got here.

     8:00am  They told me no at the donut shop.

                    I went in the 3rd Street Coffee House. I saw they had fruit and I thought, "Oh shit, I'm going to score me a banana." I went in there and asked and she told me they weren't allowed to give any away. She told me that the owner got there at eight thirty. I told her, "I was just testing you, you failed," and walked out.

     8:05am  Antonio at Rico's Tacos hooked me up with some gasoline for my stomach. I appreciate it, brother. Everybody gets credit, thanks.

     9:05am  I stopped at the Hendrix, Brinich and Burtelon Lofts. I smoked a cigarette and took a hit of weed.

     9:44am  I came in the Safeway and used the restroom. I shaved.

     12:00pm  Drivers are nice in Bend. That's the third time someone has stopped to let me cross. I'm not even at a crosswalk. Right in traffic.

     12:45pm  Chris gave me fifty cents so I could get me a pizza. I appreciate it, brother. Everybody gets credit.

     12:55pm  Nicole gave me a cigarette in Drake Park.

     2:32pm  I've decided I'm going to skip town. I'm bored. I need to go to a thrift store first. I'm just walking down the street. I'm walking East on some street I'm on. I'm looking for a gas station. I got fifty cents. I'm going to get me a snack or something.

     2:57pm  I went to the 7-11 across the street from the Safeway. I bought me some honey roasted peanuts and smoked a cigarette. I came over and got directions to the thrift store. I hope they're open. It's Monday.

     3:00pm  I'm going to hit up Dominos Pizza and see if I can score some food.

     3:12pm  The guy told me, "No, we're just make-to-order." I told him thanks anyway. Oh, I see an Arby's in there. They hook me up there sometimes.

     3:27pm  They told me no at the Arby's. I went across the street to this restaurant. I asked the lady there and she told me the manager wasn't there. I told her, "If excuses were money, you would be rich."

                   I'm hungry. I want to skip town.

     3:35pm  I'm going to try this Chan's restaurant.

     3:37pm  Jan at Szchechuan is giving me some gasoline for my stomach so I can keep walking. That's very generous of you. Everybody gets credit, thanks.

     3:38pm  She just gave me a covered Styrofoam dish. It seems kind of heavy. Let's see what she gave me. I love surprises.

                   Holy shit! It's rice and chicken! Yes! That looks good! I can't wait to eat.

                   I dropped my sign somewhere. I have to go back. I need that sign to get out of town.

     4:20pm  I stopped at the Dairy Queen for a 4:20 break. Not Dairy Queen, but the 7-11 where I sat down before. They hooked me up phat at the Chinese restaurant. I left my sign over there, so I had to walk back. It wasn't that far. I found another cigarette in the ashtray. I'm going to smoke that and smoke some weed too.

                   Cool, there's the Goodwill store. Let's see if I can get some clothes.

                   They told me no at the damn thrift store! It's not like they pay for any of this stuff. I should steal it.

     6:00pm  I have to make an update. Oh yeah, I came to that Chevron I went to when I first got here. Bruce was working again. The guy who hooked me up with a donut and listened to me. I went in there and asked him, "Hey, can I score another donut?" He went, "Sure." Then he handed me a bag of popcorn and told me, "Here, put that in your bag." He had given me something else for my bag last time too. I asked him if he knew a good place to stick my thumb out and he took me outside and pointed me to a spot. He even told me, "If no one picks you up just come back to the gas station and ask people for rides." He told me, "Just be safe."

                   Bruce believes in me.

                   Please Love, send me a ride. I'm bored of this town already.

     6:31pm  The coolest shit happened! I got picked up! I just got dropped off on 20 North. I'm going to walk down to that gas station and get another ride.

     7:17pm  I didn't tell you. I walked all the way down to the gas station. It was really far.

                   Oh yeah, I left my water bottle back at marker 20. So, I'm going to walk all the way back there. Hopefully it's still on the ground where I dropped it. And I'm limping. My feet hurt.

     7:50pm  I walked like half a mile to some park in front of some church. I'm just going to stick my thumb out.

     8:27pm  I gave up and started walking the highway. I eventually came across this church and decided I'd find a place to squat. In the back they have this little playground. I'm going to crash inside this thing. I'll take a picture of it in the morning.
