Arcata to Eureka, back to Arcata, CA

     6:07am  I haven't made an entry yet today. I woke up at 5:45. I walked over to that house I crashed out the night before. When I got there I heard people talking. Probably the owners were there. I heard them talking about perimeters and stuff. I sat down behind this fence to see if they would eventually leave. I gave up and went over by the railroad tracks that used to lead out to the barn. I crashed out by the railroad tracks real close to Samoa. I just woke up. I'm going to walk to the Cash Oil and use the restroom. Just like in the old days.

     6:16am  Ken hooked me up with some change for a donut. I appreciate it, brother. Everybody gets credit, thanks.

     7:37am  I walked to the Safeway. I took a long way there.

     7:43am  This guy who didn't give me his name gave me a cigarette in front of the Safeway. I appreciate it, brother. Wish I could give you credit. Well, you know who you are.

     8:12am  I smoked out this bum by the Safeway. There's a lot of people out. Oh yeah, I didn't tell you last night before I crashed out by the railroad tracks, I found Brian's house. I noticed a light on in his back room, but he's in a wheelchair, so I didn't expect him to answer the door. I lightly knocked a couple times. At least I remember where he lives. I can go there around noon, he'll probably be awake, and ask about Kati. I don't even know if she's in town.

                   I miss my Kati-Pie.

     9:20am  I asked this one lady if I could tell her my story in front of Don's. When I told her my mission-objectives she said, "Oh, I don't think it'll happen." I asked her to do me the two favors and she said okay. She asked me, "Do you want a bagel?"

     9:29am  Becky ended up buying me a bagel. I appreciate it, Becky. Everybody gets credit, thanks.

     9:42am  I just talked to this guy. I hit him up for my story. He told me, "I think we should just log old growth." He works for the logging industry.

     9:48am  John smoked us out at the plaza. I appreciate it, John. Everybody gets credit, thanks.

     10:27am  Larry just walked out of the donut shop and handed me a bag of Doritos. I appreciate it, man. I'm hungry. Everybody gets credit, thanks.

     12:00pm  I didn't tell you. I walked over to Brian's. He told me he was going to put me to work! He gave me Kati's number, but it's disconnected. She is still in Arcata though. She works tonight at The Raven House. I'm going to go surprise her.

     1:18pm  I just finished working and Brian handed me $120! That's crazy, man. I'll put it to good use. Thanks for feeding the peace machine.

     2:14pm  I went to the hitch spot to Eureka and Leslie pulled over and gave me and Gia a ride.

     2:56pm  I had an awesome presentation with these two girls in Eureka.

     3:07pm  I went to the bathroom at the Shell station. I put on some more layers. I had put on my Willie Nelson shirt on since I was going to meet Kati. It's got a little hole in it, so I took it off. Anyway, I'm walking to The Raven House. I still have a couple hours to wait until five. I'm going to see if I can smoke somebody out. I'm having a great afternoon. I have over a hundred dollars. I got some weed. $120 to be exact. He gave me some weed too. I went and bought me some new caribiners and a new Nalgene bottle. I gave my old one away to some kid in the plaza. I feel great. I'm going to see my Kati-Pie pretty soon. It's going to be cool.

     3:22pm  I went to the Burger King and with five dollars bought me an Angus Burger. I have never had one of these. I wonder if they're any good. I'm going to walk to The Raven House and eat it.

     4:08pm   It turns out Kati is not working. She's in transition, moving or something. I told them to tell her that Victor was back. I'm going to hitchhike back to Arcata.  

     4:20pm  Katherine is giving me a ride back to Arcata. I appreciate it, Katherine. She was at the Kinko's. Everybody gets credit, thanks.

     4:30pm  What was your name again? Katherine is recommending me a book to read. It's called The Seduction of Madness. She's not sure who the author is. I told her I'd look it up on the Internet.

                    Oh yeah, I just took a picture of this big Great Dane. He belongs to one of the street kids. His name is Doobie.

 

                    He looks like Scooby-Doo.

     6:28pm  Ida is out here feeding the kids in the plaza. I appreciate it, Ida. Everybody gets credit, thanks.

     6:40pm  Had a good presentation with this pretty girl that walked by. I told her my intro and platform and when I asked her if she would listen she said, "No, I'm sorry. I'm going to be ignorant this time." She actually ran away.

     7:53pm  Brent just walked by and offered me some muffins. Awesome. I appreciate it, brother. Everybody gets credit.

     9:48pm  I never told you. I walked all the way over to the Round Table Pizza by the Safeway. I'm going to call Brian and see if I can crash there tonight. He didn't answer the phone, so probably not. I guess I'm going to find somewhere else. I'm going to go down 6th Street I guess and see if I can find that house.

                   Oh yeah, I never mentioned. I got me a chicken. I got me a traveling-partner. Some street kid in the plaza hooked me up with a stuffed chicken.

 

                   When I saw him I complimented his chicken. He said he just pulled it out of the dumpster. He hooked me up with it.

                   Hehe, I'm walking up to random people in the plaza and asking them, "Guess what?" When they ask what, I show them my chicken's ass and say, "Chicken-butt."
