Wednesday April 1, 2009

I haven't been too descriptive. This guy Joe-Bob, last night he was drunk off his ass. He could not have gotten home alright, so I agreed to drive him home. It'd be a place to crash at least. I drove us to his house and met his roommates. They seemed all cool with me. I slept on the couch. I met his dog Hannah, this beautiful pitbull. I'm all stoned. He took off to work early this morning. Last night he hired me to be his driver. Umm, I have a job already though. I had asked him what time he was waking up and he told me six, that he had to go to work. I felt like I was in Pismo Beach for a reason, Oceano. I'm going to go for a walk and get seen. Either Joe is still asleep, or he didn't come home last night. I'm waiting. I've been getting high on the back porch. Last night he grilled me up a steak on the grill outside. Anyway, I'm going to load up all my stuff and leave for a walk. I still have typing to do in San Luis.

I forgot to mention, I tidied up a little and left the house. I was less than a block away and I hear Joe-Bob calling me. He was in a car this sixty four year old Christian lady was driving. He didn't come home last night. He said he had called in sick to work. He called me over to the car and thanked me for driving him home last night. He handed me a twenty and told me, "Here's for breakfast." I asked him how long he was going to be at the house and he said for a while, he was going to take a nap. I asked him if I could leave my heavy pack at the house and he agreed. I'm just hauling my front pack on my back and my CamelBak. I'm going to walk to the beach now.

                     Remember The Pike and 21st.

Oh yeah, I was able to borrow a cellphone and I called about my trespassing ticket in Berkeley. They extended my deadline to June 14. Umm, I can be out of California in less than two months easy. Maybe, maybe not. On the way North I want to go talk to the police about my ticket and see if there is any way I can take care of the ticket without money. I'll show up wearing my shirt and tell them how my full-time job doesn't pay me money, that I am a volunteer. It'll be worth it just for them to see my t-shirt, hehe. I'll be sure to make the same inquiry in San Jose too.

10:15am  I took a right on 13th Street. Hmm, maybe I should use these twenty dollars towards a new tape recorder.

I didn't tell you, I turned left on Highland Way. I'm over here next to the big strawberry field people are busy picking through.

I walked to 1st Street. I don't know which way I should turn. Left or right. I think I'm going to turn left. I see a bridge that way.

I'm walking Pacific Avenue and I came to the sign that says Pismo State Beach Oceano Campground, to the left. There's a deli right here. I'm going to get some food. I have twenty bucks.

Be sure to add to my website, "After all these years my contribution is finally ready." If I haven't already.

I walked all the way to the beach, Oceano Dunes and there was absolutely nobody there. This place hasn't been so cool. I'm going to walk all the way back to Joe-Bob's house and see he'll give me a ride back to San Luis.

I walked by The Salvation Army on Highland Way, which I didn't see before. I saw this black couple going out to their truck with bags of groceries. Let me go see if they can hook me up too.

11:29am  I walked in the Salvation Army and the generous souls inside are giving me some food. I appreciate it, guys. Everybody gets credit, thanks.

I walked all the way back to Joe-Bob's and he brought me back to San Luis. I just got back right now. The first time we left from the house, we were like five minutes away and I realized I had left my bag of snacks I had gotten at The Salvation Army. He was nice enough to go back. Then, right when we got to San Luis I discovered I had left my CamelBak at his place too. He told me he would have it for me tomorrow morning, that he worked construction at a place on Higuera. I feel naked without it. He dropped me off by the 7-11 on Marsh. I'm going to go buy a water bottle.

1:55pm  I was flying my free hugs sign on Higuera and this girl just came up to me and told me I had given her a free hug a couple months ago the day she was in labor. She was pushing her new baby in a stroller and I told her congratulations. She just wanted to say hi. I gave her another free hug.

I was bored and I need to buy a new one hitter. I got on the bus going to the headshop and then somebody told me there was a smokeshop on Higuera, so I got off the bus. I spent like half an hour looking for it and it turned out to be a cigar place and they didn't sell my pipe. I had money, I had food, and I still had a transfer so I figured I would ride the bus to Cal-Poly and use a computer in the library. I got enough sleep, so I'm going to go to the library at Cal-Poly for the first time since I've been back.

I forgot to tell you, I found the library easy after I asked this pretty girl for directions. I was sure to give her my website, but I don't think I told her it was about marijuana. I sat outside and ate some cheese fries I scored at The Salvation Army in Oceano earlier today. I smoked a cigarette and now I'm going to take a hit of weed. It sucks that I forgot my CamelBak. I should get it back tomorrow morning.

9:38pm  I am leaving the Cal-Poly library. I typed a lot. I typed up last Thursday. It turns out I cannot install MS Frontpage, like I need to. I was able to do it last time I was here but this time it says I need to be an administrator to install anything. I don't know where I'm going to make my update. I can do my typing at Prado. I guess I could just download the HTML files I want to update to my zip drive, then edit them at the Prado computer and then go back and upload them. It'd be much easier if I had access to MS Frontpage online though.

I was walking through the college after I left the library, aiming for the taquerias. The campus police pulled up behind me and the officer rolled his window down and asked me how I was doing. I told him I was the happiest man in the world. Another cop showed up and they ran my ID. Then one started asking me a question, I was hoping it wouldn't be to search me, but they just asked me if they could take my picture. Whew, I still have those mushrooms I got in San Jose. "Document me, please. Would you let me take your picture too?" They took my picture, but I ended up forgetting to take theirs. They let me go and I'm walking.

I walked a long way. I got lost on campus. I'm going to walk back to Grand and hop over the highway. I hope the bars are hopping and it's busy on Higuera. If not, I'm going to walk to camp. Hopefully I can score some leftovers on Higuera. I've got five dollars, but I want to save it for weed. Tomorrow is Thursday, farmer's market, so I'm sure I'll get some more cash.

11:08pm  This sucks. I have done so much walking today. I just now got back to Higuera. I'm tired. I'm going to sit down on a bench and rest. I'm hungry. I might spend those five bucks on food.

I'm talking to Josh Payne and he just volunteered me twenty bucks! I really appreciate it, brother. Everybody gets credit. Thank you so much. He said he had seen my sign yesterday.

11:18pm  It's awesome how I just got hooked up with twenty bucks! I was just standing there and this guy came up to me and asked me if I needed some money and handed me a twenty dollar bill! I tried to tell him my story, but he had to go do some DJing. I closed it out and gave him my website.

12:05am  About ten minutes ago I got to my camp. I'm going to eat, smoke and go to bed.

1:20am  Going to sleep. I'll set my watch.

Next day..
