San Antonio, TX

Sunday April 3, 2005

I'm leaving the house. I'm going to walk downtown today. Oh yeah, my little nephew had a camera. My mom got all pissed off when I noticed. She told me, "Don't ask him for it! He got that so he could take pictures of fossils he finds." I walked to my room and pulled a total of seven things out of my mission box. This big shell fossil I had. Not the ammonite. A little toy car and a dinosaur I had. He told me okay and gave me the camera. My mom is dumb. She told me, "Don't coerce it from him." She just hates the fact that I get my way. She hates it when I get my way. She doesn't think I deserve so much because I don't have any money.

I'm off walking now. I'm wearing my bright tie-dye t-shirt I got yesterday. I'm going to go save the world some more.

Please Love, smoke me out today.

I'm walking in the entrance to the park now. OP Schnabel. I'm going to hike to the Walmart. I'm going to walk all the way downtown. I'll walk Eckhert to Medical Center and then walk Fredericksburg all the way downtown.

I'm in the park now walking through a parking lot. I spot these three Mexican dudes. First thing I thought was, "They're going to smoke weed."

I had an awesome presentation with those Mexican dudes. They didn't come to smoke weed. They were there with their family. I got all the way past the spirits part before they had to leave. All these people, besides the Mexican dudes started crowding around me and listening. I had such a captive audience. Everybody saw me. Everybody was looking at me. It was perfect. I'm having a good Sunday.

I came to the BAM rocks and smoked the little roach I have left. I'm going to walk to Walmart now.

This morning I took a picture of the tree in my mom's backyard. That's my little nephew in the background giving the peace sign.

This morning I was talking to my eight year old nephew Carlos. I love that little kid. He's a smart kid. He's a bit brainwashed by my sister and mother though. I was talking to him and I asked him, "Hey, what did your mom say after she picked you up that one day after hiking?" He told me, "She didn't say one word. She told me she would slap me if she talked to me."

I took a random picture of a trail out here in the woods. It's a beautiful day. The sun came out. I walk these trails every time I walk to the Walmart at the start of my days. It's just beautiful out here.

11:58am  I just walked by the 88 bus and looked inside. I don't have one that's the letter of the day. Well, I got one but it's expired already.

I'm going to go to the Barbacoa place and see if they'll hook me up again.

They told me no at the Cafe Rodeo Barbacoa. She told me, "The manager is here. I can give you a soda if you want." I told her no thanks, I had my water. Oh well, not going to score there. I probably shouldn't try Horacio's again. They told me last time they wouldn't hook me up anymore.

I'm going to start telling people when they tell me no, "Alright, I'll walk hungry." "Camino con hambre."

I'm going to go hit up this New Asia Chinese Restaurant. Go see if they'll hook me up with a bowl of rice or something.

They told me no at the Chinese Restaurant.

That sucks at the barbacoa place. The last time(2-20-05, 10:19am) that lady treated me like royalty. She gave me some bullshit excuse this time.

Hmm, I found a snipe on the ground. I'm going to pick it up and smoke it. I'm going to cut through Marshall High School.

I ended up on Bluebird Lane.

I walked Apple Green, turning left on North Hollow.

About to pass Villas of Northgate. I used to deliver pizza here.

All of a sudden I heard some guy coughing real hard on the balcony. I walked up to him and asked, "Was that a 420 cough?" He told me no. I'm going to walk around these apartments and see if there's anyone smoking weed.

                    I'm in Walnut Hills Apartments.

This girl who was going out to the dumpster, I hit her up for my story and she told me, "I'm going somewhere right now. I'm sorry." I told her, "Don't worry about it. That's precisely why I ask." I'm going to walk around Walnut Springs. 5380 Medical. I used to live here with Chasity. There's Arbor Point close to it, which used to be Walnut Creek until some cop got killed there and they changed the name.

I'm going to aim for Evers. I'll go ask the lady at the taqueria over by Planet K for some food.

I changed my mind. I'm going to keep walking to Babcock. I'm going to go to Medical Center. I need to be seen today. I have my bright shirt on. I'm going to walk to Fredericksburg.

1:20pm  I ran into Pat in front of Diamondhead Condominiums. I told him my story. He recommended a book to read. What's it called? Foods of the Gods.

I just hopped on IRC and went in #bookz on Undernet. In no time I had the text. For free.

                    smokeysmurph@yahoo.com

Oh man, my prayer was answered. I had given up. I was going to walk to Fredericksburg and start walking downtown. All of a sudden I see this cool dude walking towards me. I ask him, "Do you got any weed?" He told me, "Maybe later. You're not a cop, are you?" I showed him the peace tattoo on the back of my neck. I just told him my platform and showed him my list. He asked me, "Do you want to smoke a joint?" He told me to wait there. That he was going to go to his pad and get the joint.

I think I got stood up. I didn't even have the chance to give the guy my CD. I hate getting stood up. I mean, he offered it and all. He told me to stay there and wait. I asked him, "Do you live with your parents or something?" He told me, "Oh no, you can't come to my crib." I've been waiting for about ten minutes and he's not back yet. That's messed up. How can you do that with the Mary Jane? Get somebody's hopes up like that.

That was a magical encounter I had with Pat. He did finally come back. We walked to the woods real close and smoked weed. I got to tell him my odyssey story and gave him my CD. I'm going to walk downtown. I put the roach on the ground when it got too small, thinking I would keep it. But I ended up forgetting it.

After my intro and platform he told me, "Wow man, you're a prophet." I told him, "That's right. I am a walking, talking self-fulfilling prophecy."

That was so awesome. Right when I decided to keep going to walk downtown, I see that one guy.

2:14pm  I cut through the VA parking lot to the transfer center and got some water. I'm going to walk through the UT Health Science Center and end up over by Louis Pasteur.

For world peace to come . . . all everybody has to do is read this.

Cool, Ms. Smith just drove by and honked and waved at me. I bet she liked my tie-dye shirt.

To any would-be assassins. If you kill me it will just happen sooner. I've been passing my CD's out for months. Come and get me.

If they ever give me any shit for walking through the country club I'll tell them, "Thank you for doing me the huge favor of making my story so interesting and helping me get marijuana legalized." Then I'll turn around and walk off.

I'm going to go hit up that pizza place. Pizza Roma, over by Callaghan.

The greedy ass at the Pizza Roma told me no. He gave me the 'ol manager wasn't there excuse. Damn, I'm hungry.

3:31pm  I went to Oaklawn Apartments and right when I showed up I saw Evan walking. He asked me if I had any weed. I told him no and suggested we see if Samantha and Justin had some. We came over here and Samantha is hooking me up with three corndogs! I'm going to be all fueled up for my walk downtown. Cool.

I'm going to take off walking. I had three corndogs. That was cool. She made a corndog for herself and I said, "Man, nobody is hooking me up today." She said, "Do you want something to eat?"

Samantha is so cute. She deserves more than Evan.

Oh yeah, and Cortney was there all trying to order marijuana seeds off the Internet. When Samantha gave me the corndogs I was so surprised that she actually made me three. Thinking I didn't need three, I offered one to Cortney. Cortney didn't seem to eager to eat it, so I ate all three of them. I told Cortney is was fuel for my walk downtown.

I ran into Arlene Deleon out here selling newspapers to cars on 410 and Fredericksburg. She recognized me and asked me how I was doing. She says I told her and her dude my story not too long ago on the bus.

My job may be simple, but if you think walking as much as I do and fighting ignorance every day of your life is easy . . . you try it.

Damn, walked in front of China Harbor and there are no fortunes to be found. Whoa, they got a Sunday flea-market going on back there. Publicity.

I'm walking down Fredericksburg some more. I just passed the HEB headquarters. I'm going to go to the Original Donut Shoppe and see if I can get hooked up with a donut for my walk downtown.

Tere en Original Donut Shop me esta dando gasolina para mi estomago. Te lo agradezco, Tere. Todo el mundo recibe crédito.

                    Called that.

Just passed Hildebrand. By the Deco District HEB.

I'm going to sit down and rest at the bus stop on W Summit and Fredericksburg. I've been walking nonstop all the way from Medical Center.

I rested for about ten or fifteen minutes. I'm going to go now.

Turning left on Hickman. I'm going to go to the McFarlin Tennis Center. I'm on my last ball. I've got like three or four at home, but I didn't bring an extra one.

I don't know what time it is, but I just took a picture of that thing that all the tennis balls were stuck in the other day(3-18-05, 3:35pm). I just took a picture of it, so you know what I'm talking about. Whoa, there's shitload more balls stuck up there today. Awesome, awesome.

                    I found twelve already.

4:55pm  I got me a bountiful harvest of tennis balls. I got tons of them. Let me count them up. They were all stuck up there.

Nineteen tennis balls. Let's see how many I can cram into my little bag.

I held all the balls in my shirt and walked to San Pedro Springs Park. I went up to some family BBQing and asked them if they had a plastic bag. I gave a ball away to some guy with a pit-bull. That left me with eighteen balls for today.

All these people are seeing me today. It's Sunday. It's a beautiful day. I'm going to walk downtown. I am almost there.

Walking under I35. I'm downtown already. Almost to the main library.

Oyster Bake is coming up pretty soon. April fifteenth and sixteenth. Friday and Saturday. I'm going to show up and spange my way in again, hehe.

6:44pm  Mr. Arredondo is hooking me up with a ride home from Travis Park. I appreciate it, brother.

Cool, I should make the 7:15 610 to my mom's at the hospital.

I ended up with only thirteen balls. I put one on my stick and gave two away. Sixteen total, I think.

Sylvia on the bus hooked me up with some change for a transfer. I appreciate it, Sylvia. Everybody gets credit, thanks.

7:17pm  We got to the hospital right on time.

I'm already at the Citgo by my mom's. I'm going to walk home. I'm tired. Hungry too.

I'm coming up to my mom's house now. I don't know what time it is. My mom's boyfriend is here. His truck is in the driveway.

My mom is having this big meeting. A big bible-study, I think.

I'm not sure what time it is, but I just got out of the shower. Since company was over, I had to take a shower in my mom's bathroom. There's tons of brainwashed people here tonight. All talking about God and school. I need to hurry up and finish my job already.

Next day..
