After that I left the party. The crowd was dying down. I got bored and went walking around again. By this time I was hungry. There's a Denny's close by so I thought I would go and try my luck there. I walked in and asked the hostess if I could speak to the manager. She asked me about what and I told her, "I'm writing a book on generosity that the whole world would read..yada yada yada." She went to the back to get the manager. It sucked that I had to tell the hostess that line, because I thought for sure the manager was just going to say no. The hostess came out and surprisingly told me to hold on, that the manager was coming to talk to me. The manager, this black girl named DeShunta came out and smiled at me. I was real cool and jumped in on my California story. She was smiling and agreeing with everything I had to say. In the end she ends up asking me if I want it to-go or to eat inside. Hehe, score! I tell DeShunta to just surprise me and she says, "No, just pick anything you want out of the menu." Whoa. I look at the burgers and see they have a double-meat burger for like $6.49 or something. It was the most expensive burger on the menu. I walk up to DeShunta and ask her, "Would I be pushing my luck if I ordered a Double Burger?" She said, "If that's what you want, of course not." Wowee. I asked for the burger to-go. I thought Pam would still be at the Motel 6 and I could show her my proof of generosity. It took an unusually-long time for the burger to get done, but I scored at twelve thirty five. Maybe the delay was because they had to spend more time cooking another patty. I got me a big bag with the burger and some French fries. To the victor go the spoils, hehe.
I took the food over to the Motel 6. I went back to the party and there were still a few people left. I went inside and asked them if I could sit down on the bed and eat my burger. They said sure. Dude, that burger was humongous. I think DeShunta may have even beefed it up a little more than usual, too. Mmm, I wasn't sure I could eat the whole thing. After the second bite I accidentally dropped it. I caught it in my knees and it almost fell on the ground spilling everything it had on it. Saved it with my knees though. Whew, that would've sucked, royally. Anyway, after I finished the burger I was sleepy with a full stomach. I wasn't about to ask one of the people if I could crash on the floor, so I just got up and walked around some more to keep me awake.
Man, I was exhausted. I had done so much walking today. I walked the hotel for a couple laps. I then spotted where the dumpster was. Behind the dumpster there was a huge concealed place with walls around it. Bam, that's where I'm sleeping tonight. I went behind the dumpster and laid down on the flat concrete. It was all very clean and the temperature was pretty moderate. I positioned myself so I couldn't be seen from any angle and just closed my eyes. I slept for about an hour and at one fifty three I was woken by some employee of Motel 6. He was a very nice Mexican man and he just told me I couldn't sleep there. I apologized and asked him how did he see me? He said someone had called and reported me. Oh, but I bet the people who reported me had a nice, warm bed to sleep in that night. Bastards.
Well, I guess I was just going to stay up until six when the buses started running. I had nothing to do for four hours, so I went back to the Denny's. I bummed a cigarette and sat down and smoked. I hung out in the Denny's by myself for a couple hours. Around three forty five, four people came in and sat in the smoking section. It was a bunch of girls, I thought. The most outstanding one looked a little dude, but I could kind of see bulges that resembled breasts. Also, his/her hair was all braided up and stuff. Don't get me wrong, Sonni(his/her name) was cool as shit. We joked around and even commented on eating pussy. He/She told me they had just come back from the Bonham, this gay bar downtown, so that reinforced my theory about Sonni being a chick. Sonni was with his girlfriend Trishette and they were with their two other friends Jo and Peggy. After a while they left. I noticed Jo had left a big slice of ham on her plate and I asked her if she was through. She said yes and gave me her plate. Sonni had a spare slice of ham and he gave it to me too. Later, the nice waitress Helen came to clean the table. I was sitting at the table across from it. She showed me how they had left a lot of food like these big pancakes. I told her, "Waste not, want not." To my surprise, she put the plate of pancakes down in front of me. Yummy, more gasoline for the stomach. I swear Helen was mothering me. She always made sure I had water in my cup and everything. I felt like I was at home.
I bummed another cigarette off of Steven, some other guy eating and around five in the morning I left from the Denny's. I figured I would walk down to Eisenhower Road and walk all the way in front of the flea market, where I knew for sure the 505 passed that would take me to Crossroads Park and Ride. I stopped at a gas station still on I35 and Sheila hooked me up with a cigarette. I arrived in front of the flea market at around five thirty five. I walked around the stop, just up and down the sidewalk to kill time. I wasn't sure what time the bus was going to come. Hell, I wasn't even sure if it had started running yet. It finally pulled up at six oh five. I got on and told the driver, "I'm sorry, I've been up all night and thought I had some money. Turns out I left it at my friends. I don't suppose I can get a courtesy ride?" The nice driver let me on. I crashed out until we got to Crossroads Park and Ride. At Crossroads I spotted a stoner kid who had gone to the Marleyfest last night. I ask him if he's got any bud and he says he's got enough for a joint. I show him my sneak-a-toke and he grabs it and loads it up. Thing was, neither of us had a lighter. We walked up to this dude and bummed a light from him. We asked him if he smoked weed and he said no, not until they legalize it. I told him to just wait, hehe. Anyway, we used his lighter and got some good hits. When the 92 going to Medical Center pulled up I told the guy I had to go. He got mad at said, "Let me take my weed out of there then." I told him okay, but he couldn't do it. He ended up just letting me have it. Before I get on the bus I tell him that the guy who leant us the lighter probably already got on the bus and that I would give it to him. He said, "No, screw that. If he got on the bus, I'm keeping it." I told him fine, that it was his Lighter-Karma. The driver still hadn't come back outside and the door to the bus was wide-opened. What do you think I did? Hehe. He never even noticed me, the bus was pretty full. Scored yet another free ride.
The time was then around seven. Now, both buses that go out closer to my mom's house pass at the hospital at twenty of the hour. I waited on the 620 side because I was always riding the 605. I thought my chances would be better of getting a courtesy ride. When the 620 pulled up I asked and the bastard told me no. He asked me, "Why didn't you ask the other guy? Why are you always asking me?" Hehe, I told him about my reasoning for picking sides. Oh well, now I wasn't sure how I was going to get home because the 605 and 620 come every hour. I didn't think any of the drivers would hook me up since I bum rides from them daily.
At around seven thirty four I saw the 534 going towards Ingram pull up. I don't know why but I tried my luck with the driver. I told him, "Sir, I've been up all night and I spent all my money at the Bob Marley Festival last night. I don't suppose I can get a courtesy ride?" He waved me in quick. Badass. I still wasn't sure how I was going to get home but at least I got another free ride. I contemplated getting off at Bandera/Wurzbach and hoping a bus would pass soon that would take me to the grocery store. I pretty much only rode the 605/620, so the other bus drivers that go down Bandera hadn't been solicited by me, yet.
I chose not to and rode the bus all the way to Ingram Park and Ride. At the Park and Ride I bummed a cigarette and smoked some weed. I saw the 610 pull up and I went and tried my luck with the driver. He was cool and let me on. So back I went on the 610, the bus that started this whole adventure yesterday. It seemed like I was going to backtrack my way home the same way I came. I rode the 610 to New Territories and got off on Bowens Drive. Right when I got off the bus I found a quarter on the street, cool. I was dead tired but I walked all the way home from there, about three miles.
Whew, I was glad to be home already. I took a shower, checked my email and crashed out around ten in the morning. I woke up around four and have been resting all day. My mom has done her share of bitching and I am getting fed up again. It should pass, but I just want to leave already and go traveling again. Stupid court-date. Okay, well I'm going to finish this here. Today, the seventh was pretty uneventful because I spent most of the day sleeping. Okay, now I'm going to send this story to my friend Becky. Peace in the middle east.

Next day..
