Wednesday April 8, 2009

6:35am  I woke up at about 6:10am. I got six and a half hours of sleep. I made an awesome tent.

8:40am  We are walking the highway to Prado. We're leaving late. David slept in. He was dreaming.

I had an awesome productive day at Prado today, hell yeah. I got a lot of my pictures named, about half of them. I have about six hundred new pictures to name total. The sun came out and it's beautiful outside. My boots are still ShoeGooing and I'm wearing those shoes I scored at Prado. I've got my boots stashed in the field, separately though. I figure nobody is going to take just one boot. I hope the rain doesn't effect the ShoeGoo treatment. I don't think it will. I got some weed! This black guy they call Token hooked me up with a little nugget.

The greedy ass driving the bus won't give me a ride. He said, "I gave you a courtesy ride last time." It's a beautiful day, the sun's out. I should just walk it.

I need to make an update. I came out to the bus stop, it came at 2:37pm and the dickhead driver wouldn't let me ride. I figured I would walk, but then I got lazy since the day is so nice and just sat down and thought of a project I could do until the bus came again. Maybe I can bum fifty cents off of somebody before it comes, or try my luck asking for another courtesy ride. Yeah right, it'll be the same prick driving.
I sat down and started playing with my camera. I am so happy I got my pictures off of it. I thought to myself I could keep myself busy by deleting pictures to clear space. I set it to show twelve at a time and just started pressing on the touch screen deleting. I was having fun seeing how fast I could delete them. Well, since I was high I kind of got carried away with it and ended up deleting all the new pictures I took after I got my pictures from the computer shop the other day I just took a hit to my mission and lost some history. I lost six days worth of pictures. I deleted all the recent pictures I've taken. From the 2nd to the 8th. Damnit, damnit, son of a bitch. I lost all the pictures I took of my camp this morning and the tent I made. I lost all the pictures of the people I told my story to downtown. Oh man, I am so sorry. I was just zoning out.

Ha, this lady walked to the bus stop about ten minutes before it came back. I asked her if she could spare fifty cents for the bus and she gave me a bus token, perfect. When the bus came again I stepped up and asked the driver if I could please get a courtesy ride knowing he would tell me no. I even stepped on the bus and asked if anyone could help me with bus fare. The driver started yelling at me and I pulled out my token and went, "Psyche! I had it all along, I'm in no hurry. I was just testing you. Don't you know money is just a trick. Don't fall for it. Money is slavery." He told me not to waste his time, please. What does he care? He's on the clock. I should've told him greed would be his downfall, hehe. Nobody wants world peace!

I came to the Mac store to check my email. At Prado I was able to get all the pictures off the CDs and put them all on three separate little USB drives. I have them all named already. I went to the Mac store and took a shit. I didn't take a shit because I was typing since I first got there. The button on my Volcom cargo shorts broke a couple days ago and I wanted to fix it. I just wasn't sure how to sew a button. While I was sitting on the toilet I thought to myself hey, I'm at the Mac store. I can look it up online how to sew a button. I did exactly that. I searched Google for "how to sew a button." I pulled out my sewing kit and fixed my pants right there in front of the computer.
Did I tell you I got a new rainbow beanie? That dude Scott did eventually show up yesterday. It's one hundred percent silk and doesn't really match my rainbow scarf. I don't think I logged it.

12:02pm  I had an awesome presentation with Jenny. She's the first in my new set of pictures. She told me she had to go the first time I asked, but she was totally enjoying it. Awesome presentation. Because I got high. I took a picture of her back as she was walking away. Hopefully I'll score some leftovers soon. Please LOVE, feed my belly.

Right now this group of kids walked by and told me nice shirt and gave me a high five. I told them, "Check out my website. It's free. It's not religious, I promise." The dude told me, "As long as it's about marijuana." They didn't call them peace pipes for nothing!

This lady Janet walked up to me and gave me a free hug. I told her my stuff, but she had to go. She told me she believed in what I was doing. She gave me a card. She's a photojournalist. The card she handed me had a picture of an inmates fists that said White Power. She runs a tattoo removal program. On the back of the card it says, "What I did is not who I am." It also says: "Erasing the Past, Building the Future" is an in-depth photojournalistic journey sharing the hardships and successes of ex-gang members participating in a tattoo removal program. Trying to change their lives by removing their anti-social and gang related tattoos, this vulnerable population is working hard to change their lives in a positive fashion." She invited me to this thing tomorrow behind the mission.

This big group of girls just stopped and talked to me. They gave me hugs. First one did and then the rest of them gave me hugs. Cool, I'm having fun. I am totally digging this beanie I got. It's a masterpiece, even though it doesn't match my scarf. I need to take a picture of myself with it.

6:30pm  I had an awesome presentation with Ariel and Kevin, I took their picture. She had a brown hat on.

Be sure to add to my website somewhere, "Protests and boycotts don't offer answers. I do."

7:00pm  Lewis just came up and volunteered me some change. I didn't ask for it. It probably had something to do with my shirt, hehe.

7:11pm  Dudes I told my story to.

Donna just gave me a dollar after I told her friends my story. I appreciate it. Everybody gets credit.

7:22pm  That was funny. This group of four kids. A girl and three guys. These two guys, they're ears were stuck to my words. They wouldn't take their eyes off of mine. The girl and this other guy wandered off and ignored me. When I asked if they wanted to hear the whole odyssey, or just the important part, they told me they were listening, which is bullshit because they were having a conversation together. I guess she felt guilty because she gave me a dollar. Nobody wants world peace..except for those two guys.

"I am giving people a channel to actually reflect what they really want."

8:00pm  My friend Molly showed up on Higuera. She had gone to Santa Maria. She was given a harpsichord. We both walked to the field. David showed up eventually too. It's so cool I have field-mates. We're all crashing. Goodnight, everybody. Tomorrow will be another day. I'll do some more work at Prado.

Next day..
