EMAIL WITH MOM

     7:16am  I woke up around seven and I found a place to take a shit. Now, I'm going to go back.

     8:44am  I noticed the way I went to take a shit led out to these ramps I recognized that were on a main trail. And, the way we had been going had a really inconvenient drop to it. So, I found me a morning project. I started clearing away the trail to the ramps. I just whipped stuff out of the way with my stick. It kept my busy for over an hour until Tim and _NV woke up.

                   I got really far with my trail and went back to camp after like an hour. _NV(I'm just going to call her Jenny from now on) and Tim had woken up and I returned. When I walked up, Jenny offered me some yummy granola. Now, we are walking to town. Getting an early start.

     8:55am  We turned left on some unknown trail. Let's see where it goes.

     8:56am  We just stumbled onto this natural Ewok village. There are all these stumps and old logs. It's really cool. I wish I had my mountain bike.

     9:05am  We are out on 14th Street. 14th and Union is where the entrance to the forest is. Gotta remember that so I can find my way back.

     9:09am  We are cutting over to 11th.

     10:29am  I just scored a shower at the Endeavor. I feel good. Shower's are great. Now, I'm going to go to the library and check my email. Hopefully I'll see Jenny. I'll meet her in the plaza.

     10:33am  I walked over to the Arcata Branch Library. It's over tucked behind the police station, not that far from the Endeavor.

     10:50am  I checked my email. When I went in there I saw Jenny. She had about half an hour left on the computer, so she let me on and told me to meet her in the plaza. I checked my email. No new mail.

     10:55pm  I just walked to in front of the plaza at the Big Blue Cafe. I asked this lady about to go inside for a cigarette. She gave me the butt she had left and told me to hold on, that she was going to roll one for me. To just wait outside. So I'm outside waiting. Good things come to those who wait.

     10:56pm  Tammy just came out of the cafe and gave me the cigarette she promised. She was with Leo and I recorded that instance of generosity. It was book-worthy. Everybody gets credit in my game.

     12:11pm  We just finished eating at the Endeavor. Tim told me somebody hooked him up with a nug, or he found a nug. Tim, Jenny and me took off walking and Jenny found this chill spot on a rooftop nearby, but Tim didn't want to smoke there. So we're not.

     12:48pm  We just smoked out at this big tree by the highway. It was a perfect spot nobody could see. Right on the other side of the highway of the police station. Well anyway, we just finished smoking and we are walking back to the Endeavor because Jenny needs to get her laundry.

     12:54pm  At the corner of 9th and F we just ran into the girl who's cake we had yesterday. We offered to smoke her out, so we are walking back to the tree. That's where we're going.

     1:38pm  Jenny said we're going to have a picnic. We are walking to St. Vincent De Paul's. We are going to score some food boxes. We'll tell them that we need food for two people each, so we'll get double. Sweet.

     2:04pm  We came out here by 101 South to Eureka. Over by Porter Street BBQ. We're sticking our thumbs out. We're going to go try and make dinner at The Raven in Eureka.

     2:47pm  We gave up hitch-hiking. We're walking back into town. Jenny took off to Sunnybrae to go to some guy's house to get some weed. I don't know what's going on, but Tim and I are going to go to the plaza to see what happens there.

     3:06pm  I just got a request to go buy some Schlitz malt liquor for some old dude in a wheelchair. He said he was going to give me some shrimp. That'd be cool. Remind me to tell you what I think about Jenny soon.

     4:59pm  The gang and I met up with Geba and Ian and smoked. We're taking a hit off the pipe right now. We got some coffee. I got me a Cappuccino with change that guy gave me because I bought him beer. We went to the side of the gas station where we got coffee and smoked until a car pulled up. We were in its parking spot. Now, we're walking. Oh yeah, I had forgotten my water bottle, so I went back for it. I checked my water bottle pouch and my poker wasn't in there. I remember taking it out to scrape a resin hit when we were smoking, so I went back by that car that was there and found it again on the ground. Now, we're walking back. It's like 5:00pm now.

     5:19pm  That was badass. I was in the plaza and I ran into Jesse, the guy who's apartment I had stayed at before I rode up to Oregon with Tony(six months ago). He walked by and I said, "Is your name Jesse?" and it was him. I sat there and gave him my magical update. He told me, "Yeah, I had seen you around."

     5:45pm  Tim, three other guys and me are walking to go smoke some weed.

     5:46pm  We are out here by Arcata Marine Parts and Accessories. Over where K turns into Alliance. I've walked this before.

     6:26pm  Whoa, sweet. Food Not Bombs is in the plaza. Just like that.

     7:29pm  We just went and bought some alcohol and we are going to drink in some corner. Then, we'll decide what we're going to do from there.

     7:57pm  John hooked me up with a cigarette. I appreciate it, brother.

     8:03pm  I just got back from buying the kids some alcohol. I bought them a twelve pack of Coors Light cans. Ha, breakin' the law, breakin' the law.

     8:29pm  Rudy's hooking me up with a cigarette. I appreciate it, brother.

     9:03pm  Andrea hooked me up with a cigarette. That's very generous of you, Andrea.

     9:16pm  Tim, Ben, Michael and I came smoking again. Ben was nice enough to smoke us out.

     9:25pm  We are just wandering around Arcata now. We're not deciding anything. We just took a corner because a cat turned that way. Alright. Now we're back at the park where we saw that guy hauling four plants of weed with his bike.

     9:37pm  Some girl got all pissed off because someone asked her for change. She was all yelling in the street. It was hilarious. The cops came and lectured her, "If somebody asks you for change just ignore it." That's funny.

     10:15pm  Mark is hooking me up with a cigarette in front of Toby and Jacks.

     11:35pm  We've been walking for about five minutes headed towards camp. We started walking at 11:30. Let's see how long it takes us to get there.

                     We are walking down 11th. It's on the other side of the highway on 11th. Before, I would walk 11th all the way to the end on the opposite side of the highway. All the way to Kate's house.

     10:47pm  We've run into a little problem. We made it to the top of 11th street and started walking up the hill in the forest. But now, there's houses here and people are outside. We cut through a path in the woods. I here a police siren going.

     11:10pm  We got through and we're going up the mountain now with no complications. No cops or rangers.

     11:15pm  We stopped to rest at that bench. We don't have a flashlight, so we are going to try to make it all the way to camp with these couple light diodes I always carry. I gave Tim the fish one. I've got the brighter one of the two. It's not that much brighter, though.

     11:30pm  We finally found something we recognized. We are on our way to camp.

Next day..
