                                                                                                Bozeman to Livingston, MT

Sunday September 27, 2009

7:10am  I woke up earlier but I dozed back off. The sun's up now, so I can get up.  I camped on top of this grass.

Hmm, this side is almost done on this tape. I'm going to switch to the other side.

Ahh, there's plenty of room left on this side. I shouldn't switch it yet.

9:00am  Leaving. I've been having the most relaxing mornings waiting for the sun to come up lately.

I crashed over behind the Uhaul place. There's an IGA grocery store across the street. I'm going to go make my morning deposit there.

9:35am  I came to the grocery store and shit in the bathroom. I layered down. I removed all these stickers from my pants I got when I walked through the field this morning. I didn't make a mess on the floor. I pulled the trashcan closer to me and threw them all away. I should've shaved, but I was taking too long anyway.

The street the Papa John's is on is Villard and 7th Avenue.

9:52am  I just walked to Main Street. I'm going to turn right instead of left. I hear this is a college town. I'm going to go find the college and find some tennis balls. I've got three of them but I can always use some more. There's always Mexican restaurants by colleges.

On the sidewalk here it says AMREN.COM

I'm going to go hit up the Subway.

10:03am  The nice guys at the Subway are hooking me up. I appreciate it, guys. Everybody gets credit. Thanks for feeding the peace machine.

Sweet! They asked me what I wanted and I gave them the usual, "Surprise me." I got a big foot long surprise! I've got food to-go!

10:31am  Turning left on 19th. Going to the college.

I gave some girl on a peace bike my website and asked her where the college was.

10:27am  I'm walking through the slave-in-training quarters here. I'm going to look for the library if it's open today. And tennis courts.

                     Random shots

I stopped and asked this kid who had all these packs on, he didn't look homeless, he had a big pack with camping supplies on them, I asked him for directions and he told me exactly where to go. I offered him my website and asked if he would listen to my story. At first he said sure, he had nothing to do, but when I asked him if he was willing to listen he said he would rather check out my website. I didn't get his name, but he told me, "I think you're legit."

11:03am Sweet, I see tennis courts.

                    Montana State University

11:12am  I only scored one ball, that sucks.

11:23am I found the library. I'm going to smoke a cigarette outside first.

3:32pm  I stayed a long time at the library. I didn't type that much. I am almost caught up. I'm on the 26th, I think. I've got a long walk back into town. It is Sunday, after all. I might leave. Maybe I'll walk into town and try and tell my story to people. I don't know.

3:52pm  I'm leaving from in front of the library. I ate the other half of my Subway sandwich and smoked a cigarette. I tried telling this one dude my story. He told me he would listen, but he didn't at all. Good little slave-in-training.

4:45pm  I've got an update to make. I was walking down Main Street finally. I magically ran into Brandon and Kylie. When I first saw them I offered them my website of course. They told me they were going to go to Livingston pretty soon. Hey, that's East. That's where I want to go. They're going to give me a ride!

Look up Andy the Hobo Traveler.

7:23pm  I don't remember any of their names, but I had a pretty interesting time right now. I was walking down the sidewalk on Main Street earlier and I met these other street kids. Well, he's a traveler kid but he was running around with his mom and girlfriend. They'd been hitchhiking before. Vegetarian kids, no jobs or nothing. They've been to Europe and stuff and were telling me all about Rotterdam. They were on the sidewalk on Main Street trying to score some marijuana! Their mom was cool and left them to do their thing and try to score. She was waiting for them in the car. They asked her if they could give me a ride to Livingston and she said sure. Livingston is where I wanted to go South anyway. So I got a ride. On the way there I told their mom my story. She listened good. During my story she even said, "I'm glad I'm meeting you now, because you're not going to be here much longer." It was really weird, because like halfway through when we were on I90 she pulled off to the side of the road. She flipped out. I told her, "Whatever, I'll get out here, but just let me close out my story before I go." I tried to close it out and like halfway through closing it out I guess she decided that she trusted me or something because she kept driving and we went into Livingston and drove around. I actually got to tell her the spirit's part and closed it out. I thought they were going to take me all the way to Gardiner, but they're going to do that tomorrow, I guess. It's going to get really cold tonight. I need to find a bathroom so I can put my tights on. We pulled up to a Subway in front of some motel. She asked me if I was hungry and I told her yes. They were going back and forth from the hotel to the Subway. Me and the girl took it to go, but it turned out we were supposed to eat it there. She got me a foot long sub and I have the other half for later. I went outside to say goodbye to them then remembered Brandon had told me he would hook me up with a nugget. I went to remind him and their mom told me, "Just go inside and finish your meal." She kept insisting I went inside. I thought she was weird, so I left to go inside. When I opened the door I looked back and saw that a policewoman had pulled up and was standing behind me the whole time. Somebody probably called the police and told them about my shirt. Ah, I understood then why they were telling me to go inside. Anyway, they met me in the hotel parking lot and Kylie hooked me up with a spliff. I don't much like mixing tobacco and weed, I like to hold my hits in, but I was still cool with it. You get what you pay for, hehe. I'm getting cold. I should see how I head South from here. Let me put my tights on first.

I'm going to go find a camp. I'm walking 89 South.

Sorry I wasn't too descriptive with them. Their mom got freaked out at me and pulled off on the side of the road. I let her know I was prepared to leave at any time.

8:49pm  I found the perfect campspot. I was walking South 89 and noticed there was a fence. I thought I would have to jump the fence. Then when I got to the mile marker I found a spot where the barbwire fence was flattened down. There's a little trail and I found a little clearing behind these trees. I am 53 miles away from Gardiner. It was awesome how I scored a ride out of Bozeman earlier. The college was far away from downtown. Or it was the way I walked to it. I already made my bed and everything. I'm going to have a good night's sleep. I'm going to eat some of my remaining half of a foot long. Oh yeah, they're going to Gardiner tomorrow. I'm going to go back to the gas stations and hotel and wait outside until they come out to their car and see if I can get a hold of them, I don't know.

Next day..
