Garberville to Redway and back, CA

Tuesday October 12, 2004

8:10am  I haven't made entries at all this morning. Let's see, I woke cold up at the camp. I should really get a sleeping bag or something. Ahh, I don't need one. Me and Rosalinda are wandering into town again. Actually, we're lost. We stopped and took a hit of weed. She pinched the sack she was going to sell. Hehe, she got mad because I mentioned that. I told her, "I'm going to tell the whole world you pinched that sack." She told me, "That's messed up."

9:57am  Outbound(that's what his name sounded like on my recorder) is hooking me up with some spare change for a coffee. Outside Nacho Mama's. Everybody gets credit, thanks.

11:03am  I never mentioned that Meta, the guy I met last night at the camp, I told him my story and he has this project going on with a bus he wants to get running. He said he was going to have a computer on it. Which means I might get my workstation. Everything is going as planned. I'm just letting things happen. Right now we're going back to camp so I can go get my bag. We're going to Redway. They have a feeding out there.

11:32am  Me and Meta are leaving the camp. We bullshitted and smoked some weed. Now we're going to eat. They're feeding at noon.

12:14pm  Entering the town of Redway. Population 1400. Elevation 528. We just walked to Redway.

1:30pm  Doug hooked me up with a cigarette in front of the coffee shop in Redway Plaza. I appreciate it, brother. Everybody gets credit.

1:38pm  We already got a ride back to Garberville. Karen's being nice enough to give us a ride. I appreciate it, Karen.

2:58pm  Oh yeah, we came back to the camp. One of these kids here has a pack of Marlboro Reds. Right underneath where it says Marlboro it says, "Smoking Kills" with a big black border around it. On the back it says, "Smoking causes aging of the skin." Hehe, that's funny. That doesn't stop people from buying them. That's just there so when somebody wants to sue Marlboro, Marlboro can just tell them, "Well, we did have a disclaimer on the pack."

3:17pm  Zy is hooking me up with some cookies at the Subway. I appreciate it, brother. Everybody gets credit, thanks.

3:32pm  I got hooked up at Subway! Not with a sub, but I got three cookies and a bag of chips. When I hit him up, Zy asked me, "How many times have you rehearsed that line?"

4:18pm  Chris, not only listened to my story all wide-eyed and attentively, he gave me a cigarette too. I appreciate it, brother. Everybody gets credit, thanks.

4:32pm  Tequila is going to smoke a brother out. I appreciate it, brother.

5:48pm  I am getting bored of Garberville already. I'm thinking about just taking off walking to that gas station in front of the RV park, like I did last time and get a ride to San Francisco.

6:00pm  Oh yeah, I ran back into Meta. I had lost everybody.

6:56pm  Rebecca, at Ray's Food Place hooked me up with a cigarette outside. I appreciate it, Rebecca. Everybody gets credit, thanks.

7:00pm  Whoa, I ran into Sky, who I've met a lot of times. Last year at Clam Beach(7-22-03, 12:10am) and then again in Portland(7-10-03, 2:45am). I'll have a link to all the times I've met her before. I asked her if she remembered my story. She had some friends with her, but they wouldn't listen to me. They told me, "It seems like the story will take longer than I am willing to stand here," and they just walked off. Thanks for proving me right. Ignorance is bliss. I can't believe that.

It's ok. I win either way. My name ain't Victor for nothing.

7:38pm  Outbound just hooked me up with a dollar so I could do my laundry. I appreciate it, brother.

7:56pm  Me and Meta walked over to the truckstop over by the campsite. This guy here is hooking me up with a big chunk of weed! I had lost my pipe too. I'm glad I got it back.

Next day..
