4:22am I just got six and a half hours of sleep.
5:07am See, this morning I woke up and I was invited to breakfast at Burger King by Linda, this overweight homeless lady who crashed in the parking garage last night. She's got coupons for free food. We woke up and she rolled away real quick, with her cart full of stuff. I was still packing when she got done. I was taking my time. I told her I would just meet her at the Burger King. I walked to the BK and saw her and she's going to buy me breakfast. I don't know what's going to happen today. I might take off Ventura-bound. I'm not sure.
6:55am I went to the Burger King with Linda and she got me breakfast. Oh yeah, you'll never guess. I totally forgot that Ziploc bag with broccoli and spinach was in my bag. I had gotten it in Ocean Beach. I finally figured out why people were saying I stunk and needed a shower. I was carrying around rotting produce! My bag totally stinks now. So, Linda told me about some place I can do laundry for free. I need to wash my stuff.
8:47am I forgot to tell you. I came over to Mary's Kitchen and I'm doing my laundry right now. I'll take pictures. I'll be able to shave too.
Beautiful girl who works here.
9:00am I am over here talking to Danny Ramirez at the shaving station at Mary's Kitchen.
11:08am I walked all the way to Katella and Main Street from Mary's Kitchen. I'm going to see if I can get a courtesy ride into town. If not it's only like a mile. I washed my backpack and most everything that was in it, like my pillow and stuff.
11:12am I scored a courtesy ride on the 53 going back downtown.
Ask and thou shall receive.
12:15pm I forgot to tell you I walked all the way over to the Isaiah House. David's here and I talked to him. He's about to leave so I'm lucky I caught him. He's letting me use his computer so I can do some typing. I want to get caught up before I leave. I know I had decided I was going to go to Ventura today, but I can still chill here for a bit and at least get caught up with my typing.
12:25pm I just recorded over some stuff, damnit. Leia just told me to move, argh. After David left I sat down on the concrete table in front of the Dwight house and started typing. After a minute or so Leia sticks her head out the window and barks at me that I can't do my typing there. I should've yelled at her, "Nobody wants world peace!" Why does everybody have to always mess with the guy trying to bring world peace?? For crying out loud, I was sitting down only a couple feet away from the pole they have in front of the house that says MAY PEACE PREVAIL ON THIS EARTH in different languages. What hypocrisy!
1:42pm I came to the bus stop, the 420 bench and continued with my typing, since Leia doesn't want world peace and told me to leave. Just now the battery died and I think I just lost all my typing! I should've been saving it. Argh. I'm going to go return David's laptop and then walk to the pagoda and see if I can get smoked out. Linda told me that DC, Danger Child, the cute redhead girl, that she likes me. That's great news. I'm going to go see if she'll smoke me out. She's got a dog, so she can't come traveling with me. I was thinking about maybe inviting her to Ventura.
Oh yeah, my back hurts. For the first time of the trip my back aches. I need to rest.
1:47pm Sweet, scored a courtesy ride to the Civic Center. Nice driver.
5:05pm I walked around a lot. I went to the pagoda and saw DC, but I am not interested in her. I've got work to do. I've got a world to save. I was really considering leaving today, but I want to try flying a sign in this town. I ran into Matt, this other street kid. He's a rookie. He hasn't been anywhere in California. I asked him if he wanted to go Ventura with me. Matt is all fixated with money. He had gotten lucky walking around holding a sign asking for change, so we went to the dollar store and he bought a marker to make signs with. He made a pretty lame one that says TRAVELER IN NEED. With a marker he bought I wrote out a SUPPORT THE CAUSE sign. The lettering came out near-perfect.
5:08pm Man, I love David so much. He's a true brother. I thought I might have been annoying him, because I kept going over to the Isaiah House and asking him for stuff. He's always smuggling me food. He hooked me up with these badass chocolate chip muffins. Then he took a break and we went for a walk and smoked some resin. I got the idea to take his laptop to the Gypsy Den. It's Monday and it'll be all dead. It should be okay if I just type. Oh shit, I left my SUPPORT THE CAUSE sign. I have to go back. It's important. Oh yeah, and when I'm typing at the coffee shop I'll have my sign exposed. Remember to tell David, "I've got a revolution brewing, and you're in it."
7:22pm I'm walking up to the Gypsy Den.
8:10pm I just had an awesome typing session at the Gypsy Den. I had to leave because the band started playing music and I couldn't hear the playback on my recorder. I'm going to walk back to the Isaiah House and return this laptop. Oh yeah, David hooked me up with a couple muffins again. Dank muffins.
I changed my mind. I'm not going to return the laptop just yet. I'm going to squat with it in the parking garage. I’m going to return it tomorrow. He trusts me. I haven’t taken my pictures off of it either.
