Thursday December 20, 2007

7:24am  I woke up about five minutes ago. I had some pretty good rest. I'm not that tired anymore. I can totally feel the difference. Nothing rests tired and sore feet better than a good night's sleep. I'm going to finish walking around the loop today. Just you watch me.

Shit, it's only 3:56am! That 7:24 was my chronometer reading for how much sleep I got. I'm getting an early start. I need to find me an HEB.

It was so awesome how I found that thing to sleep on last night. I took a picture of it. The white board. I'm walking 410 West now.

Passing SA Missions National Historic Park next right. Passing that sign.

4:31am  At four twenty I stopped at the next street light and I layered down. I took my thermals and scarf off. I am ready to walk now.

I can't believe the last thing I ate was those two bean and cheese tacos. I'm not even that hungry. I took a chug of Riovida. I see a gas station coming up. I'm going to stop and find a cigarette somewhere. I lost my pouch of Buglers.

4:54am  There's a Shell station across the highway. I don't know what street it is. There's a Holiday Inn Express here.

The gas station is all closed down and under construction. It's not even open.

5:14am  I paused at the closed gas station and made a snipe rat and smoked it. All the lights are on here even though it's not even open. I had to take a shit real bad, but I luckily found a paint bucket right in the woods right here. I took a shit in it. Just like in O'Brien, hehe.

5:18am  I am off. I layered down and it's chillier. I just have to walk and warm up.

     5:37am  Passing by Chavaneaux Road.

I can't believe I'm still going without eating. I have water. I don't know where my next stop will be.

5:39am  Walking by the City of San Antonio Police Training Center. The police academy. Fuck the police.

5:41am  There's a rock in my boot. I have to stop and take it out.

5:48am  Passing by Rosemont at University Park. Affordable apartment living.

                   Please, Love. Feed my belly.

6:09am  Coming up on Zarzamora Street. Exit 48.

6:23am  I'm at Zarzamora. There's no gas station or nothing here. I'll take a chug of Riovida.

6:27am  Leaving Zarzamora. I took a little pause there. I drank the last of my Riovida. I'm looking at the map.

6:45am  Coming up on Palo Alto Road. I passed by the college. I really hope there's a grocery store here. I'm going to go hit up Whataburger if they're open.

6:50am  I came to the Valero. The Whataburger wasn't open. I'm going to stand in front of the Jack In The Box and stand here and wait for somebody to give me some food. Whoa, it seems to be open. I'm going to go hit up Jack In The Box.

7:00am  Hell yeah, I scored at the Jack In The Box. She told me, "Hold on, I have customers in the drivethrough." She eventually hooked me up. Awesome. That's what I get for walking around the loop.

7:16am  I got some weed at the Valero! Martin is hooking me up. I appreciate it, brother. Everybody gets credit, man. Thanks a lot.

I scored me some weed! I asked this guy for a cigarette and he said, "I don't smoke cigarettes. I smoke another kind of cigarettes." When he came back out I showed him my fake cigarette and he said, "I'll give you a little."

7:24am  Doug hooked me up with a cigarette at the Valero at Palo Alto. I appreciate it, brother. Everybody gets credit, thanks.

7:31am  I am done with my break at the Valero. Hell yeah, I had a good little recharge, a pit stop. I got two cigarettes and I found a snipe on the ground. I had gotten hooked up with a double meat breakfast thing at the Jack In The Box. I didn't get the Mexican girl's name, but she knows who she is. I'm going to put my wig on.

7:44am  Man, that was awesome how the marijuana fairy blessed me. Thank you, Love. Thank you, Love. My prayers were answered.

8:02am  Coming up on Somerset Road. I took a picture. I'm giving everyone the peace sign like I've been doing since Bandera. All the truckers give it back to me. Everybody is going to recognize me.

8:12am  I just passed Somerset Road. I'm going to take a break here and smoke a cigarette. I'm going to sit in the sunshine.

8:27am I'm all stoned. I just got done from my smokebreak. I needed to cut a new tennis ball. I took a picture of the worn out one. I'm leaving it. It's my marker.

     8:30am  I found a good pen. A Pilot pen.

8:35am  Yeehaw! I see a sign that says North 410. I've almost gone in a complete circle.

Coming up on I35 right now.

9:05am  Waiting for a train. I took pictures. I'm getting together my last hit of weed while I wait for the train to pass.

9:06am  The train passed and I have my hit loaded. I'm going to walk to the Shell station and smoke a cigarette before I take it though.

9:27am  I got to the Shell station on Pearsall Road.

Screw the Bill Miller's. There's a taqueria right here! Hell yeah, I'm going to eat. I want to find a cigarette first and take my hit of weed. Then I'll go ask.

9:40am  I came to the Shell station on Pearsall Road and David Doherty hooked me up with like four cigarettes. I appreciate it, brother. Everybody gets credit, thanks.

9:49am  I had a good little break. I should've eaten first. Right now I'm going to go get hooked up at Mexico Taqueria, watch. I'll take a picture of it.

9:52am  Juan Manrique en Mexico Taqueria me esta dando comida para terminar el loop. Te lo agradezco seƱor. Todo el mundo recibe credito, gracias.

9:56am  Score. Bacon and Egg and Ham and Egg. Two tacos. I'm going to get all the way home on this. I'm not going to eat yet. I'm going to put them in my bag and walk like another mile.

10:00am  I layered down. Took my warm shirt off. The sun's up. I'm going to keep walking. I totally manifest those tacos. I took a picture of the restaurant before I even scored. Like I say, taquerias are the path of least resistance. I thought I was going to go hit up Bill Miller's. They would've hooked me up too. I'm walking around the loop.

I pulled the map out and showed them exactly how much I had walked.

I'm going under the underpass to the other side of 410 so I can be walking against the traffic and wave at everybody. Just like I have been on this whole walk. People have been honking at me left and right.

                     I love my magic hat.

The dude who had hooked me up with the cigarettes, I asked him if he had any weed. He said, "I sure do." My face lit up. He said he didn't have it on him, that it was at home. He said it was hydroponics. I perked and asked him, "Oh shit. Can I come over?" He said, "I thought you were going to walk around the loop." I thought about it and told him, "I am. It's just really tempting. I mean, I could always catch the bus back out here and keep walking." Hehe, I told him thanks anyway. I need to follow through.

Next rest I take I'll probably eat one of these tacos. I've got two of them. I walked a lot yesterday and this morning on no food at all.

I should tell people, "I accept donations. I just don't expect them. Surprise me."

10:23am  I just took a picture of this big jumbo jet flying by. A cargo plane.

Coming up on Exit 3. Ray Ellison Drive. Medina Base Road. Shweet, I see a sign for an HEB down there. I don't need it anymore. I've got tacos.

10:31am  Dude! I walked to this underpass to come eat in the shade under this bridge and some guy in a car yells at me, "Do you want some tacos?!" KHD-5912. I've got plenty of food now.

10:33am  Man, that was so friggin' awesome. Right when I went to go sit down and eat my tacos, some guy drives by and gives me another taco.

I just checked the bag they gave me at the restaurant and I got three tacos! I just ate the one the guy just gave me. I'm going to eat another one.

10:44am  All fueled up and leaving.

     10:55am  Passing Lake Valley Street.

I'm thinking about stopping at the HEB and buying me a Ben and Jerry's ice cream for dessert. Karmel Sutra. Hell yeah.

Coming up on Exit 4. Valley Hi Drive. Lackland AFB ½ mile. Exit 6 is I90 to Del Rio. I'm like halfway to the HEB. The Babylon starts thickening up here.

10:59am  Just crossed Medina Base Road.

                     There's an HEB!

11:21am  I went in the HEB and picked out an ice cream.  They didn't have any Ben and Jerry's.  This stocker guy hadn't even heard of the brand.  The foodstamps card didn't work. I need a pin number. That sucks. Oh well. That sucks. I want some ice cream.

11:29am  Some guy is buying me an ice cream! He doesn't want his name on here. He doesn't want credit. Make something up, then. Just some guy. Charlie? Okay, Charlie. Everybody gets credit, thanks.

12:07pm  Leaving the Valley Hi HEB.

12:12pm  Jumped on the other side of the highway opposing traffic.

     12:29pm  Coming up on I90. I'll take a picture.

12:49pm  Coming up on Marbach Road.

12:58pm  I walked to Marbach. I'm going to sit in the shade and smoke a cigarette.

1:06pm  I'm up from my smokebreak. I'm going to keep walking past Marbach. Almost there. Almost there.

1:15pm  Walking in front of Westlakes Mall.

     1:28pm  Walking underneath 151.

1:42pm  Ingram Road one mile! Almost home!

1:43pm  Crossing over Leon Creek. I took a picture.

1:59pm  I just got to Culebra. I'm going to keep walking. I'm not going to rest. It's only a half a mile more to Ingram. I'll get smoked out hopefully.

2:02pm  Passing the Paul Taylor Field House.

2:12pm  I'm cutting through the Ingram shopping center to the transfer terminal.

2:16pm  I just got to the Ingram Transfer Center. It's dead. Please Love, smoke me out.

2:28pm  Nobody smoked me out at the bus station. Nobody was there. I just sat down and ate a banana that dude bought me with my ice cream earlier. I'm going to walk the half mile to Bandera.

I was walking on the access road in front of Ingram Mall and some dude just yelled at me, "Fuck Bush, ese!"

Coming up on Bandera.  Almost there.

3:01pm  I have arrived! I friggin' made it! Yay! Bandera to Bandera!

3:11pm  I came to the bus stop in front of Ancira Winton Chevrolet. I'm going to wait for the 88. Let's see if I can get a courtesy ride.

4:25pm  Cool, courtesy ride home on the 608.

4:26pm  Man, I had the most awesome presentation. When I was at the bus stop in front of Ancira this breathtakingly beautiful girl Bridget walks up with her little kid and I told her my story at the bus stop. She had a couple dreads in her hair and was a San Antonio native. She loved every second of my story. She was the most beautiful girl in the world. When we got to the Walmart she listened to my whole entire Odyssey. She paid my busfare when the 88 came too. Then at the Walmart when the bus that goes to the Church's came I asked for a courtesy ride. I forgot I had a transfer. The guy was cool and said sure after I told him I had just walked around the loop. I'm going home.

On the ride home I told the driver the Note From The Rich and he really enjoyed it. Mr. 3664.

4:55pm  Just got off the bus close to my mom's house. Man, I'm tired. My knees hurt.

Oh yeah, I didn't mention. I got hooked up with some weed at the Walmart! I'm going to go take a shower and go get stoned in the backyard. Damn, I'm out of tobacco though.

Next day..
