Thursday December 25, 2008

2:04am  I woke up around two at 700 Main Street on the porch. I went to bed around six thirty or so. I got around seven hours of sleep already. That’s all I need for now. I woke up and I smoked. I went and took a piss around the corner. I came back and ate an oatmeal cream pie. These forty bucks I have should last me until tomorrow, so I can go typing and stuff because I’ll have food. I’ll try to go to a college and stuff.

6:00am  About ten minutes ago I woke up again. I didn’t really go back to sleep. I stood up and I’m going to load up and go find a place to shit. I didn’t take a shit yesterday morning, so I’m pretty well stocked.

6:22am  I am all loaded up and I’m leaving. I need to find a bathroom to take a shit in before I walk to Sanjon. Merry Christmas everybody.

6:34am  I went to the bathroom at the park by the post office. There are all these homebums out here in front of the restroom. I’m going to make a mad-dash to Sanjon. It’s Christmas Day and that’s a valuable spot. I’m going to go secure it. I got plenty of sleep.

6:48am  I have secured my workstation at Sanjon.

7:51am  Carl just hooked me up with five dollars! Merry Christmas!

8:32am  Umm, I think I’m going to go. It’s Christmas Day and not that many cars are out. I already got some Christmas blessings. I got a five and a one. This homeless lady driving a big black long van, she came over and pestered me for the spot. I had already decided when I first secured the spot this morning, that I would totally defend my post. World peace is more important. She was on the brink of tears saying how she needed money to get gas. I told her just go ask for gas at the station. It’s Christmas. “I’m sure they’ll fill your whole tank for you,” I told her. I gave her a five dollar bill and she was all, “Thank you so much!” I gave her a hit of weed too. She was all saying how she used to be Miss Oxnard, that she used to be beautiful until she got some disease. I told her to go to the Von’s on Seaward and fly a sign in the parking lot. That since it was Christmas she would score.
I’m even thinking of walking there and flying my shirt there myself. Maybe that’s what I’ll do. Von’s is probably closed, hmm. Maybe I’ll just walk to Main Street and tell my story to people. I have a sewing project to do. Maybe I’ll do that. Right now I’m going to switch out to one of these new tapes I got.

8:42am  I switched out the tapes. Today is Christmas Day. The guys who kicked me down some weed told me I was a Dharma-Bum. Look it up.

The library isn’t open today. I can’t check my email.

8:47am  I’ve had a very productive morning. I had a big organizing session at my post at Sanjon, on top of that metal box. I condensed my sewing kits to just one. Both cases had broken. Luckily, in one of those free backpacks we got there was a little first-aid kit, which I used the case of that for sewing and condensed my first-aid stuff too. I even considered doing a little sewing project on my pack. I’ll do that later. I’m going to walk into town and tell my story. I’ll have some good presentations and give people some hope.

9:22am  I got to Main Street and I stopped and smoked a cigarette in front of the lawyer’s office with those badass fish tanks.

Oh yeah, I think I have a calling towards the mall. I’m going to walk all the way there. It’s like four or five miles, I think. I’m just going to walk.

9:31am  Change of plans. I’m not going to walk out to the mall. I’m bored. I want to find somebody to tell my story to.

10:28am  I guess I just might be walking to the mall. I walked up Main Street closer to the mall and I see a Subway with an open sign in the window! I’m going to eat! I had a badass omelet sandwich Lorenzo turned me onto. Nothing is open on Christmas. Except for Subway. And Vons. Maybe I can post up in the parking lot with my shirt and pass out my website.

10:30am  I went in the Subway and Ian came in and offered me a warm jacket. Thanks anyway, brother. It’s the thought that counts. I’ve got everything I need.

10:55am  I left Subway and I am walking to Von’s to buy some cigarettes, some Buglers.

11:22am  I’m posted up right here at the Von’s entrance. There’s a better spot, but it’s taken by some other bum at the stoplight a block away. He was gone so I started walking over there to secure it, but he came back real quick. I just two dollars from this guy and I offered him my website. He told me, “You gave it to me the other day. I didn’t have any money then.”

11:30am  Tom just handed me a five dollar bill. I appreciate it, Tom. Thanks for helping me live this dream.

11:47am  Right now this one lady pulled over and told me, “Hey, I’m all for your tee-shirt. I’m sixty year old and I smoke.” She gave me two bucks, nice. I gave her my website.

1:21pm  I took a really long pause at the bench in front of Allison’s Country CafĂ©. I ran into this other bum who asked me if I wanted to go to Target. I kind of remember that being another spot I’ve flown at years ago, but I doubted Target was open. The dude assured me it was, so we took off walking. We walked all the way to the Target and it was indeed closed. I told the bum the Note From the Rich and he really enjoyed it. I’m going to walk down Main Street back downtown.

1:33pm  Richard just blessed me with some money for the cause. I appreciate it, brother. Everybody gets credit, thanks.

3:05pm  I’ve been a walking fool lately. I walked all the way back to Sanjon. I did a complete circle. I walked Main Street to Seaward then Seaward underneath 101 and the coast to Sanjon. No bums are here, so I’m going to post up yet again. It got really cold. The wind-chill is bad now. I probably won’t be out here that long. There are barely any cars.

4:08pm  I was walking by on Main Street and Thomas volunteered me a cigarette. I appreciate it, brother. Everybody gets credit. Thanks a lot.

5:03pm  I migrated to Main Street eventually and talked to this Mexican guy Rudy, told him my story a little bit. Cameron, the cool dude that hooked me up with a box of cigarettes with a joint in it, came by and told me Merry Christmas.

     6:25pm
About forty five minutes ago, it got really cold, so I decided to squat early. I came to 700 East Main and I’m in my sleeping bag all layered up. I’m nice and warm.

I had a good Christmas Day today. I got lots of blessings. I still have like fifty bucks on me. I have to go buy a new pipe tomorrow. I can’t find my one-hitter. That’s what I’ll do tomorrow.

Next day..
