Boulder, CO

Thursday August 4, 2005

5:55am  I just woke up. I didn't sleep that much. It rained last night. I had to take my bottom layer, my poncho and put it over me. Most of my stuff is wet now. I have to go to the laundromat and dry them.

7:03am  Ty hooked me up with a cigarette at the Boulder Gas Station. I appreciate it, brother.

7:06am  I woke up this morning at five fifty five. It was still drizzling outside. Good thing I thought to get a trash bag at the Conoco last night. I have my bag stashed, but I'm a little paranoid. I'm going to go back and get it and walk into town.

7:14am  Still at the gas station. This guy pulled up in a truck that said PC Medic. Robert Hastings, I think his name is. I told him my mission objectives. When I said legalize marijuana he said, "That sounds good to me." I told him, "Do you need help with any computer stuff? I know the basics real good." He said no, so I asked him, "Well then can I tell you my story?" He didn't have time to listen, but he gave me his card with his email address.

9:58am  Right behind the Boulder Gas Station they have a Mariposa Mexican Restaurant. It opens at eleven. Since it's raining I came over in front of it and I'm camped in the dry spot. I am wondering where I can get some breakfast. There's a gyro place next door. I'm going to go in there and ask if they can give me some breakfast.

10:13am  Shima, at the restaurant next door, she gave me some candy. I appreciate it, Shima.

10:29am  I never mentioned, I didn't score at the gyro place. I told those two Middle Eastern girls in there my story though. Then their mom ran me off. I didn't get any breakfast. Umm, I've donned my rain poncho and I'm all suited up. It's cold. I feel all homeless. I've got both my thermal bottoms on with my army ones showing. Let me see where I can score some breakfast.

10:35am  I just asked this dude in the Mediterranean Market Deli. He said, "We're not even open. We're sorry."

I didn't tell you I'm walking up Pearl Street already.

11:19am  I came to the bathroom by the courthouse to fold up my wet clothes. This kid from Pearl Street is hooking me up with some Chef Boyardee. One of those army can openers too. I appreciate it, brother. Breakfast.

11:28am  Tony, Antonio, the guy from New York is hooking me up with a cigarette. I appreciate it, brother.

11:41am  Oh yeah, I came over to the Wells Fargo Bank, the dry spot on the mall. I'm flying my sign, On My Way To Save The World. It's a good sign. I need a camera so I can pictures.

11:44am  This guy I met in the bathroom earlier just hooked me up with some change. A couple bucks in coins and a gold dollar. Three bucks. I appreciate it, brother.

11:55am  James just walked by and volunteered a dollar for my sign. I appreciate it, brother. Everybody gets credit, thanks.

See how I was meant to come back to Boulder? I was sent back.

12:11pm  I am talking to Ken. What was your email, bro? thegreathobart@hotmail.com

12:51pm  Boulder got rained out today. I woke up at five in the morning wet and tired. Oh yeah, I ran into Ivan. I gave him my Senior Olympics shirt I got in T or C last year(7-13-04, 4:27pm) because I don't wear it anymore. Even though I could just turn it inside out and it'd be a cool tie-dye. Less shit in my bag.

1:00pm  "My name is Chastus. I have a free fortune for this man who wants to save the world. Many moons and many moons shall pass before you receive the sense of peace of your surrounding. The conversation you have with somebody within the next two full moons will change your opinion of your past as well as externalize your future. You have a spiritual bounding around you which means you have a guardian angel on your right hand shoulder at all times. If you remember that you are like a grasshopper. You need to be around your friends, but don't become a locust. You should meditate knowledgably."

1:06pm  Dennis was nice enough to hook me up with some change. I appreciate it, brother.

5:17pm  My friend Tony from New York hooked me up with a couple shots of vodka and he's going to buy us some pizza. I appreciate it, brother. Oh yeah, and I have a place to crash tonight. His girl Corey is going to let me crash at her house tonight. Everything is going my way.

5:59pm  I'm talking to Katie, Shallow and Warren. What was your email, Katie? klanka05@yahoo.com

6:55pm  I'm talking to Lo. What's going on? Lo: "We're at 15th and the Pearl. It's a rainy day today. Save the world. Save yourself, first. Look within. All you need is love. That was a Beatles promo record for promoting God."

7:03pm  Matt hooked Tony up with a couple bucks. He appreciates it.

7:08pm  Abram me dio dinero para comer. Te lo agradezco, Abram. Todo el mundo recibe crédito, gracias.

7:09pm  Keegan hooked us up. We appreciate it, guys. Carly and Anna also gave us some change.

8:07pm  Hudson is giving my friend Tony some change. Appreciate it. Whoa, a twenty dollar bill!

                   Alma

is telling me about World Peace and Prayer Day(WPPD). "Arvol Looking Horse, who is the spiritual leader of the Lokota. Ten years ago, after the first white buffalo was born, or shortly after that. This year it's his daughter and son, I believe, who started the World Peace and Prayer Run. It came from the four directions. Mexico, from the East and West Coast and from Canada. They all convened in Piedmont, SD, in the Northern Black Hills. I guess it's the geographical center of the United States."

8:22pm  Brooklyn Tony invited me to go play a game of pool. We have some money. We went into the pool hall on Pearl Street and a dumbass bartender yelled at me, "You can't come in here with that gear! You can't come in here." I told him, "Can I just set it down at the front?" He told me, "No, get out of here."

Cool, Tony is hooking me up with a cool marble. Pocket pal.

9:09pm  I'm talking to Nick telling him my story. slottdaslayah@yahoo.com

10:06pm  I'm having a fun time on Pearl Street

Next day..
